I didn't know such a thing was happening. Somehow I feel like it's not gonna go through anymore.
This makes me wonder if that might have played a role in the timing of this event. NOT SAYING THAT IT IS A FALSE FLAG because it's almost certainly real, but I wonder if that ruling was anything to do with this.
I didn't know such a thing was happening. Somehow I feel like it's not gonna go through anymore.
If life were a TV show, a movie or a video game it wouldn't be too insane to think that perhaps someone who didn't want that law to pass had a stake in setting these events in motion. ... but being reality that's probably just insane. Most likely just a coincidence.
I don't know why, but I have the feeling that something really bad is about to happen. [editline]13th June 2015[/editline] there were 2 explosive devices in the station itself, but they've been cleared out. A cop car was also blown up and there were no casualties.
The remaining bags have been confirmed to not be explosives by the police
I don't know why, but I have the feeling that something really bad is about to happen.
I'd say that's a logical path of thought.
Reminds me of this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marvin_Heemeyer Dunno why everyone thinks its some rogue syndicate lol, there are people who can and will do heinous massacre just for a ''cause'' and this guy is obviously one of them
I swear to god a lot of news has been hitting Dallas lately this year. My family usually ignores it but now after seeing this it's probably gonna interest them.
I didn't know such a thing was happening. Somehow I feel like it's not gonna go through anymore.
Yeah. Everyone crying about how the police are 'too militarized'. I say the police should have access to anything anybody else can get a hold of, but that's just me. I remember the North Hollywood shootout. Now imagine if Dallas only had duty weapons against these guys, forget it, they'd have no chance, just like the LAPD stood no chance
In previewing the president's trip, the White House said that effective immediately, the federal government will no longer fund or provide armored vehicles that run on a tracked system instead of wheels, weaponized aircraft or vehicles, firearms or ammunition of .50-caliber or higher, grenade launchers, bayonets or camouflage uniforms. The federal government also is exploring ways to recall prohibited equipment already distributed.
I'm kind of puzzled about the bayonets part
Police militarization isnt about having access to the gear, it's about the over-application of that gear in the field (and over-procurement of it) as well as the training philosophy, and general attitude. Militaries are there to fight an enemy, optimally police should do the whole serve and protect thing first. You cant be so reactionary with complex issues like that.
Wonder how long before Fox News starts using Hatred as a scapegoat for this. I'm all for officers having access to superior hardware for situations like this but that doesn't mean there needs to be a militaristic attitude.
The way the suspect/suspects operated would indicate they had been trained or prepared for this event in advance. I mean, that is a pretty damn good level of planning, with multiple bombs, a bomb(which detonates upon any disturbances) and a freaking armoured truck with gun ports, that the police had issues with penetrating its armour.

Easier than making body armour, just need steel plates and the proper mount to take the added weight. They stopped it with a 50 cal. So it's not like they have a full on apc or a tank. It's just a van with steel plates.
Haven't heard any news involving people being hurt so far, is that true? If so, it's a friggin' miracle.
I wonder how far the guy with the .50 was from the van. If he was a few stories up on a rooftop then that must have been one hell of a shot. (Try hitting a microwave sized target inside a moving vehicle from a few hundred feet away.) I mean, hitting the vehicle wouldn't be hard but hitting the engine and not the windshield or the sides of engine compartment must have been difficult.
Glad there were no police casualties. I hope this doesn't result in further restrictions on armored vehicles, I would like to buy an old tank or APC some day just for fun.
If it was stopped easily, why would they need a freaking 50 cal? With the amount of police on the scene, they should had stopped it before bringing in the 50 cal, which in most cases, they did stopped vehicles before needing heavier weaponry. And 50 cals are used to disable the engine blocks of vehicles.
He didn't say it was stopped easily, be said it would stop small arms fire easily, thus the need to use a .50
If it was stopped easily, why would they need a freaking 50 cal? With the amount of police on the scene, they should had stopped it before bringing in the 50 cal, which in most cases, they did stopped vehicles before needing heavier weaponry. And 50 cals are used to disable the engine blocks of vehicles.
Because a 50 cal is an anti equipment round. They have to disable the engine, which a 50 cal will do. Destroy one cylinder and a engine still works. A 50 cal will fuck the entire thing. They could have just blasted him in the head with the 50 and been done with it, it would have been overkill on the rest of the thing, but an engine it's about right, engines are very thick lumps of metal, destroying a good portion of that isn't super easy. They could have used a smaller armour piercing anti personal round if they wanted him dead, but since this isn't a military operation in a war zone we kinda can't do that now can we? We kinda have to try and take him alive.
Great, this is going to ruin it for the rest of us that want zombie apocalypse vans.
for as planned as you guys are saying these people are they've still done horrible in comparison to Dorner. Which is a good thing.
Sounds like some Sovereign Citizen bullshit.
for as planned as you guys are saying these people are they've still done horrible in comparison to Dorner. Which is a good thing.
Dorner was an inside job though (User was permabanned for this post ("Gimmick" - Craptasket))
I'm just glad Texas is living up to it's image and killing all of these fuckers before they can kill someone.
What's the status of the situation right now?
What's the status of the situation right now?
Police haven't heard from the suspect in over 4 hours, presumed dead. I heard that a sniper engaged and hit him. They opened the windshield and will use a "water charge" to clear any explosives inside inert.

Now confirmed he is dead.
So wait. No police are dead? So this guy literally just committed suicide and tried to be popular? Fuck him. Don't even give a name.
I just wokeup, can someone give me a tl;dr all I am gathering from skimming the thread is there were multiple bombs indicating this guy planned that out
I just wokeup, can someone give me a tl;dr all I am gathering from skimming the thread is there were multiple bombs indicating this guy planned that out
Guy rolls up to the front of the police headquarters in an armoured van. Officers approach to investigate, realise what's going on, and leg it. Guy in van opens fire, but doesn't hit anyone, and drives off, ramming a police car in the progress. Some negotiations, some bombs found. When the EOD Robot approached one bomb under a police car, it detonated, damaging (but not destroying) the robot. Other devices were either false reports, or pipe bombs that were made safe. Back to guy in van, SWAT Sniper shoots out the engine block with a .50 cal. Guy tries to open fire again, so sniper shoots through the windshield, killing him, but they need to make sure the driver is dead, and that the van is safe, since there were earlier reports of possible explosives in the van. No injuries, and he's the only one to die. The EOD robot is still functional too.
