But really the best advice for bears and most other animals is to actually make them aware you are there while being a decent enough distance away, you're not food to them, so you generally aren't worth their time unless you threaten them with your massive cocks.
And keep your food sealed up and don't cut up fish at your campsite.
And keep your food sealed up and don't cut up fish at your campsite.
I hear of a few people who will actually do that a mile or two in the opposite direction of their campsite, so the bears will be drawn away from their actual campsite.
I think that dog deserves to die.
And I think you're a fucking asshole who hopefully will hang by their intestines for being such a cunt.
Poor bear, it just wanted a meal.
Poor dog, wanted to fucking stay alive.
Did she take drugs first?
If a bear is that close, you had best shoot the bear and hope and pray that the close range will allow your pistol to penetrate their skull.
So do you mean that the bear might get really angry if a bullet scratched his skin, or the side of his head? Because yeah that would be dangerous
So do you mean that the bear might get really angry if a bullet scratched his skin, or the side of his head? Because yeah that would be dangerous
No, he is saying that when a bear is that close you are now fighting for your life. No time for warning shots, try and get the barrel of the gun aimed into the eye socket if it is on you and unload. Besides, that would be a very aggressive gesture, which would put the bear into fight or flight mode, where it will likely be a lot more vicious than it ever would have because it is now fighting to survive.
Pfft, couragedog is the only female facepuncher right?
The fuck? It really doesn't matter if its a black or brown bear (albeit brown bears are worse) if you see a bear you get out of there (But dont just straight run or they might come after you). Also if it has somthing of yours in its possession consider it gone.
You don't want to be undetected by a bear. In fact you want to be as loud as possible when near bears. Bears don't want to attack humans but if you just show up and startle them they might attack. If you are loud the bear will know you are around and try and avoid you.
This is talking AFTER the bear has encountered you. Bear bells and all that shit are for BEFORE the bear has encountered you to give it an opportunity to split.
Living in Alaska I have encountered a grizzly, most bears are afraid of humans and they only attack out of fear. The best way to avoid a bear is to sing or talk while you are out in the woods, if you surprise a bear it will attack but if it hears you coming it will avoid you. Once you have encountered a bear your best bet is to make your body as big as you can and to be as loud as possible, unless the bear is a man eater the chances of them leaving are very high. Never run from a bear and never try to make eye contact while just standing there. And for FUCKS sake don't ever turn your back on a bear. NEVER RUN! If you are able to avoid an attack and the bear is out of sight from that point on you walk backwards scanning left and right and in front of you until you are in a safe area. I have only been in this situation once but this information saved my life. I honestly worry about moose more than bears though.

The common bear (both black and grizz) can run from 30 to 40 MPH. Basically saying they can outrun most horses in short distances, they aren't long distance runners, but they don't really need to be. But yeah, an adult female moose with her kid will FUCK your shit up for the sole reason that you might have been within 30 ft of her kid. Moose are also assholes and make fun of you behind your back, bears are chill and just want some awesome food.
I always heard that you just had to make yourself as big and as loud as possible to scare the bears off. I've heard this, has she?
Nope, you shoot them in the face with a .500 S&W magnum.
But all you have to do in that case is just speak, even speak at it, you have a 50/50 chance of it charging you or running away, so you might want to be somewhere safe depending on its' age and probable experience with other people.
So have you ever said something to a bear and have it act friendly towards you? Only asking because you actually live in Alaska

It was pitch black because of a lack of street lights so I didn't see him until I was like 15 feet away. I heard him, and as soon as I did he turned to me and just charged after me. I ran under a horse trailer in this guys driveway next to me and whilst I was pushing myself under the trailer the thing stomped my hand. It was swollen for a week. Had to wait him out for 20 minutes until he was far enough away for me to run home. Put a .338 lapua in one last year so I am happy.
I doubt there's anything more awesome than punching a bear in the face, that woman is awesome.
Hold the presses, get Garry here. She deserves gold member.
I would run from that too.

Wow, I wonder if she could walk up to anyone and say I just punched a bear in the face, what did you do today?
