He got the man, brought him back, then smacked him up with a cricket bat (which broke) and left the man with brain damage. That's excessive. Shouldn't excuse the others. I think nothing would have happened to the millionaire, had he just hit the man whilst he was still in the house.
He could like, not break into the house in the first place.
Lol. [editline]06:33PM[/editline] Besides, she was in New York. In the 60's. New York is known for being a center of assholes. The 60's are known for LSD. The neighbors were probably assholes tripping on LSD. Probably saw her and her attacker as a fire hydrant attacking a cream-filled donut.
Diffusion of responsibility is a well known phenomenon, and there are many real life cases, as well as studies done proving this phenomenon. Maybe do some research instead of just coming to the conclusion that everyone who saw her was on LSD.
Nice justice system you got over there U.K. Real stellar. I'm so glad I don't live there. Next in the news, "Women foils attempted rape, is jailed." MORE AT NINE.
Better than getting sued for spilling over a couple of peas and someone 'slipping' on them. America's no better.
This is why I like US government. You have the right to fight for your loved ones.
The millionaire got what he deserved, he had the guy pinned on the ground, and he broke a cricket bat over his head? That's more than self-defence, I hope he serves his full sentence, piece of shit.
This is why I like US government. You have the right to fight for your loved ones.
Because we don't right? I mean who needs self defence laws anyway you should be allowed to brutalise and murder anyone who dares step foot on your property.
Oh so letting him run off and then returning for when he isn't there with a cricket bat is better?
You don't need to cricketbatfuck somebodies head just to make them stay down. If this guy wasn't such a nutless shitsack he would have grabbed the guys wrists and drove his knee into his lowerback, that's self-defence.
Okay yeah I reread and there's nothing wrong here. Just the Daily Mail being the Daily Mail.
Okay yeah I reread and there's nothing wrong here. Just the Daily Mail being the Daily Mail.
Ofcourse, as I recall they're anti-labour.
ITT people believe it is ok for people to take the law into their own hands. I would have been pissed off if the guy got arrested just for subduing him, but when the criminal is subdued and the victim starts smashing his head in then the victim is basically saying "I am above the law, I can do what I want". The punishment system is in place for a reason and it is the state's responsibility to decide what should be done, not you.
There's a difference between self defence and chasing down the person and breaking a cricket bat into three peices over their head. And now for the storm of disagrees as people think i'm justifying what the criminals attempted.
If a group of men held you and your family hostage in your own home and pretty much threatened to kill you can you say you honestly wouldn't be that angry? I know the thing that makes me the angriest is when someone tries to hurt someone I care about, trying to kill someone I care for would be a lot worse. Ridiculous system.
Ridiculous, just ridiculous.
its ok with murder if you're extremly angry??
you're listening to the daily mail, what is wrong with you guys?
Reminds me of the time I got in trouble for kicking someone in self defence after they punched me in the head. After that he took another swing or 2 at me. Shitty country.
make sense please
Hitler was right wing and he didn't have evolution taught in schools and big corporations is a good thing
How can you assalt the Hostage takers :downs:.
Reminds me of the time I got in trouble for kicking someone in self defence after they punched me in the head. After that he took another swing or 2 at me. Shitty country.
Did you then cause him brain damage with a cricket bat? Because if not then no, it is nothing like this.
Don't you think it kinda goes beyond acceptability when they bludgeon a criminal who’s obviously posing no threat to them since their running away?
its ok with murder if you're extremly angry??
It's okay if you broke and entered the man's property, held his family hostage, and as I'm concerned forfeited your rights, including your life, once it was done? Should've killed him, we could've handed out another Darwin award. EDIT: Reread, he committed the last part off of his own property, thus it was just.

That goes past the 'eye for an eye' mark and carries on going.
At least he can say he went to prison for being a bad ass.

This man had been convicted many times and didn't seem to be doing anything good for society, if anything the world's better if he's brain damaged. I know it's the daily mail but at least it's nice to see they're defending "immigrants" for once.
He then enlisted his brother Tokeer in chasing the offenders down
It stops being self defence when you chase the person. That being said, it pisses me off that the original attackers aren't in jail.
Oh ok then so the next time you commit the slighest crime your human rights are automatically void and whoever's nearby should immediately murder you.
Well if you're trespassing on somebody's property and you threaten them, I can say whatever happens, happens. If the victim dies, then the criminal gets charged. If the criminal dies, then the victim gets charged. You find this fair? If you do, then your sense of fairness is skewed. But that's why the justice system isn't actually a justice system, it's a legal system. Though frankly, I think the man went a bit overboard with the cricket bat. It's obvious that they knew they were in over their head, and whether they would have come back or not, nobody knows. The best outcome would have been for him to call the police and let them take care of the rest.

Perhaps we should take this one step further- maybe we should put them in forced labour camps and work them to death for the good of the nation. Best warn little Jimmy not to steal that candy! You wonder why people have such negative stereotypes of conservatives.

But hell, You come into my house with the intent to take my family hostage, I KEEL YOU!
I get the coffee table, but did he have to cricket his brains out? Not like I am saying he deserves two and half year for harming somebody who firstly attacked him, but I don't really get that ballsy move involving bat and head.
