Haha what? Humans are OK but no killing animals? My guess is they were joking.
I believe they meant pets/peaceful animals. Otherwise they'd have to ban Far Cry.
And IMO killing cute stuff IS kinda fucked up...
Having just watched the trailer I can't see what someone could possibly find enjoyable about playing the game.
Should it be on Steam? Personally I don't think so. Watching a snuff film is one thing as you're just the witness. Making a conscious decision to execute an onscreen character in quite a realistic way? That's something totally different and I really question the mental state of someone who thinks "I'm having fun while doing this".
That said, I wouldn't make any effort to stop the game from being made or from being Greenlit. Everyone has their own interests and I respect that even if I don't agree with them.

That reminds me of when I played GTA IV. I had no problem killing random NPCs, but when it came to actually executing a major character who had a back-story and was begging for his life, I almost always chose to let them go if I could. If I had to execute them, it actually made me feel a bit guilty.

Do people realize they are using the same rhetoric as Thompson in his days when they say stuff like this? The whole passive/active argument has already been made before and I don't think it actually holds much weight. You don't see how someone would have fun with this? Good to know, but the amount of Greenlight votes seem to indicate a lot of people don't share the same opinion. I also doubt those people are mentally unstable, especially if the difference with someone you deem completely sane is that they push a button to trigger a QTE.

I'm not really seeing the connection between this game and snuff films. Hatred is more comparable to a low budget hyper-violent cash grab flick if anything.

imo watching a snuff film is way more despicable than playing any video game I've ever heard of.

There is no connection. Aren't snuff films basically movies of people dying on screen?
I don't see how you can compare that to killing a character in a video game, especially if it's just a random pedestrian npc.

Isn't this exactly what was said about manhunt?
