30 million is pretty small for a special effects budget.
That was pretty epic. The only problem is, is that I didn't like how the robots turned into a nuke for no reason...

How did he do this with only $500? All the people working together, the effects, the quality... Damn.
As long as the movie keeps the 'giant robots attacking Uruguay' theme, he's got something. Just like the guy who made District 9 got tons of mileage out of setting it in S Africa. We just don't get to see that kind of stuff in the movies very often, so it's always fresh.
I mean really, what was the last 'giant robots invade Uruguay' movie you saw? See my point?
Hey, the first 2 episodes of this was made on a $500 budget. I think having CGI helps dramatically.

From a tactical standpoint yes, but this is boring as hell if you do it in a story.

This is kind of has a transformers meets cloverfield thing going on. Let's hope the guy is more like
J.J. Abrams than Michael Bay.
