Damn it, why does everyone have to keep using the 28 Days Later music. It was only good in 28 Days Later, quit ruining it's awesomeness.
At least it isn't some cracker this time
A shaking camera during action scenes.
He truly is a genius of film making.
Movie: White house gets the first strike, but it's as usual New York that has to go though all the rape.

It also has action in it. WATCH THE FUCKING MOVIE NOT THE WAY CAMERA ACTS DUMBASS.
It was epic to look at, but how they plan on turning this into a feature length film and still keep it interesting is what confuses me.

The way the camera is used is important to anyone who is interested in film and cinema.
Personally, I've had enough "shaky camera" movies, unless they have more actual stable-camera footage in there. The movie isn't instantly forty times more realistic because of a shaky handy-cam.
Next thing you know FRED Is being paid to make a movie (oh god it is going to happen(Or is it (Nah just being paranoid))), well good for him I hope he does a good job like the rest.
Sorry bro he already did.
Sure, he made some awesome special effects. But there is basically no plot at all in this. I don't see why they wanted to make a movie of it!
From a tactical standpoint yes, but this is boring as hell if you do it in a story.
Then the story isn't good numbnuts.
The animation sucked they looked completely unnatural and not at all good. I'm not looking forward to more idiots thinking they can replicate reality in 3DsMAX polluting films with their awful bullshit they call effects.

It was made with only $500. It's not going to be Hollywood level with that amount. That's just expecting way too much from an amateur film maker.
And for $500, that's better than any of the other shit I've seen on Youtube that isn't an actual movie.
Holy shit, listen to the machinegun sound at 2:41.
It's the Heavy's Minigun.
I thought I was the only one who heard this :v:
Wall-e sound effects, nice. Also lol at the chubby monobrow kid.
Where's the story ?
Usually amateur films have a good story to compensate the lack of effects.
2:12 heavy gun sound?
he could give it to us
Or buy beer
With $30 Million he could buy a whole beer company.
That's awesome, but is that tf2 sounds i'm hearing?
They sure sound like it.
These robots looks like rip offs of the Colossuses in Supreme Commander:

Don't try and tell me that looked almost identical to the bridge from L4D2.
It's a higher pitch than the Heavy's minigun, also it's a minigun sound, of course it's going to sound similar to the Heavy's minigun.
Why do the propeller planes have missiles?
It's not uncommon.

How the fuck can I watch the movie if I can't see it?
If we learned anything from 9, a short can be turned into a movie really well.
The Escape from City 17 guys deserve this too
Lol, their government planes are absolute shit.
Can I get the link to D9 short?
30 million is pretty small for a special effects budget.
They did this with a $500 budget, so multiply that with 60000 and you get better-than-real-life graphics :eng101:

It's called talent and effort. You make a better one for $500 dollars and we talk again, jackass.
Thought so.
As long as the movie keeps the 'giant robots attacking Uruguay' theme, he's got something. Just like the guy who made District 9 got tons of mileage out of setting it in S Africa. We just don't get to see that kind of stuff in the movies very often, so it's always fresh.
I mean really, what was the last 'giant robots invade Uruguay' movie you saw? See my point?
I can't tell if you're joking or not but
There is literally nothing interesting about Uruguay
That movie could have been set anywhere

Money doesn't equal good graphics. Talent and and man-hours equal good graphics. So the best thing for him to do with $30m is hire a bunch of FX artists who are more talented than him, which kind of defeats the purpose of hiring him in the first place.

People regularly make and post better-looking stuff on sites like CGtalk for FREE. Money or lack thereof has nothing to do with the quality of CG art you produce. If someone draws a shitty drawing you don't excuse them with "oh well they drew it on a shoestring budget!" That would be dumb.
The animation isn't mediocre because he's poor, the animation is mediocre because he's a mediocre animator.
The robots were slightly unbelievable (visually). I think it was combination of sub-par animation and low frame rate. Render quality was noticeably lower than your standard hollywood production, but it didn't detract significantly.
Money will definitely fix frame rate and render problems, not so sure about the animation unless he's bringing in better animators.
Alvarez has also been put up in a new apartment, given a new car and will work with "Spider-Man" director Sam Raimi on developing the film.
Um.. I thought after Spider-Man 4, Sam Raimi was gonna begin on the Warcraft movie.. or, so "watch over" it.
Can't wait for the movie, I hope they don't change the robots...
