I hope they do better with the CGI in the film. It looked good, but really stood out, especially the things like explosions and fighter planes, which have been blended in flawlessly in other movies, but are very obvious CGI in the video.
The particle effects were kind of meh, but the rest of it looks pretty good, especially for an under $500 project done in spare time.
snip. i'm an idiot :v:
I'm still waiting for the "What's in the Box?" movie.
At 2:12 I heard the TF2 Minigun loop. the video is pretty awesome, but I don't know how they could turn that into a full length movie.
that robot-plane minigun sounded like sasha from TF2
Reminds me of "What's in the Box" from a while back.
That was actually a really well made video, seems like it could go over well with $30m.
Looks awesome.
Wow. Not bad. Thoroughly impressed, and having a hard time believing that was all made on a budget of only five hundred bucks. Now it just needs a story and better music. :buddy:
I think the director should do some reaserch before he makes this stuff if i'm not mistaken, those are A10's flying over there, A10's are not meant to be used for dogfights, they aren't that manuvarable aswell.

Only military force in vicinity is a squadron of A10 on the nearby airport and the next nearest help is 50 minutes away. Choices are: 1) Do absolutely nothing and wait for help 2) Try to do something with available resources In other words, don't dig to deep into it.
That kid is on some pretty fucking strong dosage of LSD.
will work with "Spider-Man" director Sam Raimi on developing the film.
Isnt he also doing the world of warcraft movie? 1:10 -- Is that the "platform moving sound" from Mario 64?
that must be what's going to happen on 12.12.2012 or w/e lol Pro clip right there , really the atmosphere in it is epic !
That was pretty epic. The only problem is, is that I didn't like how the robots turned into a nuke for no reason...
Not a nuke, but rather a large explosion, The reason this happened is because they combined to create a seal container where they likely detonated all their ordinance at once, A seal blast in a container is much more powerful due to air compression, Imaging a fire cracker versus a fire cracker in a film container, Huge difference.
Why did the robots go through the trouble of killing people and firing rockets at buildings if they were just going to detonate and destroy the whole city anyway?
I think the only reason people like this is cause of how the music syncs. And that's thanks to another movie. This will not be a good full film.
That was pretty badass.
On projects like this CG is free. There's no artist wages to be paid. The money probably went towards a camera, or getting all those people to run and look scared or something.
While I'm not sure on the foolhardiness of some production companies nowadays to pick up videos on the merit of their visual effects alone, and then trying to string a story on to it, the guy done good. This is in no way a new concept Major difference here: District 9 had a social heirachy, character archetypes, and moral message before it came to the silver screen This has some CG
He did this with £500 :geno: And what little acting there was, was quite convincing.
He did this with £500 :geno: And what little acting there was, was quite convincing.
If you don't feel the need to hire a ridiculous camera or production equipment (something like a canon HV-30 nowadays is good enough for filming and that's a pretty consumer/prosumer camera, and you can light a film fine with a single arri 650 and fill from a flouro if you use your gels and reflectors effectively), can find talent who will work for expenses/very little (really quite easy, people in/just out of acting school are always looking for parts) you can do it; a 10-15~ minute short film I DoP'ed on only ended up costing about £500~
Um.. I thought after Spider-Man 4, Sam Raimi was gonna begin on the Warcraft movie.. or, so "watch over" it.
Fuck Warcraft, this has ROBOTS! :science:
You work on 3D assets for weeks and tell me it's free
I never said there wasn't effort involved but the effort itself didn't take any of the budget. Unless this guy was like... paying himself with his own money or something... that'd just be stupid.
I wish there was a 'jelous' rating.
I'll take 30 million lotto tickets, please.
Well, winning the lottery is a one in a million chance, after all. [editline]07:45AM[/editline]
I wish there was a 'jelous' rating.
It's the dumb rating :downs:
That was superb.
This.
