lol, yes, let's make America into an isolationist country! *doesn't realize that the entire american economy is based on the export of natural resources and the importing of finished goods*
overload of socialism vs capitalism threads lately.
what? I didn't say anything about the police force. You said "Fuck it all unless it's enough of a public danger that people are dropping like flies." and then I (paraphrasing) said, "Public Transportation and Public education aren't stopping people from dropping like flies, you're opposed to those, right?"
You were talking about illegal drugs, gay rights, stem cell research... All social issues. These are things the government sticks their hands into when they have no business dealing with the issues. What does public transportation have to do with that? Okay a person gets a job driving a bus and transports people around. I work for a school and drive a school bus. I don't see G-man sitting over my shoulder all the time, nor do I see it with my bosses. It's a civilian institution. They receive funding from taxes, but that's about all the government really does. But they have to get money from some where, and I doubt that's costing the average tax payer what this war in Iraq is. So, sit back, use some common sense, and realize my point of view without your typical trollish extremism.
'fuck you got mine'
You often find the biggest espousers of that sort of philosophy are usually the first to come knocking when their shit hits the fan.
overload of socialism vs capitalism threads lately.
Facepunch turns out to be a powerhouse of political opinion, when shit goes down, FP is there to discuss it.
DrMortician. You seem to be coming across as almost an isolationist. I always found that a scarey concept. The Worlds too small to nsit in the corner by yourself. Did you just justify a war as good because it gives military manufacturers something to do? Get Out.
you are apparently not very thorough in your reading of this topic. i already stated previously that i am opposed to this...
i said i am against iraq because it isn't a war for our rights, and moderately for afghanistan since it was started as a response to an aggression, but now is pretty much vietnam.

DrMortician. You seem to be coming across as almost an isolationist. I always found that a scarey concept. The Worlds too small to nsit in the corner by yourself.
A danger to allied countries would be a danger to our people's rights. So not really.
You often find the biggest espousers of that sort of philosophy are usually the first to come knocking when their shit hits the fan.
y-you're not suggesting that libertarians don't realize how much they rely on the institution, are you?? :wth:
you are apparently not very thorough in your reading of this topic. i already stated previously that i am opposed to this...
Conceeded, I missread your post. I have snipped mine accordingly. Apologies for my tardness.
You often find the biggest espousers of that sort of philosophy are usually the first to come knocking when their shit hits the fan.
it's almost poetic
it's almost poetic
reminds me of:
"First they came for the Communists, and I didn’t speak up, because I wasn’t a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn’t speak up, because I wasn’t a Jew. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn’t speak up, because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me, and by that time there was no one left to speak up for me."
-Pastor Martin Niemöller http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_they_came...
reminds me of: -Pastor Martin Niemöller http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_they_came...
man you don't know what Cluckyx's statement was about, do you? (he was agreeing with a post by Chippay that was specifically criticizing you)
it's almost poetic
You or the responses
man you don't know what Cluckyx's statement was about, do you? (he was agreeing with a post by Chippay that was specifically criticizing you)
and that changes the fact that it triggered the thought of the poem in my mind how? fyi, i do not rely on any "institution" because of 1 simple fact. i'm paranoid, i don't trust anyone except my family and close friends. hell will be frozen over if i trust some corrupt politician living 500 miles away from me with my well-being.
and that changes the fact that it triggered the thought of the poem in my mind how?
well I assumed that you posted it because you thought it was related cause if you didn't think it was related, then you shouldn't have posted it sometimes Chippay's posts make me think about Tacos, doesn't mean it's ok for me to start posting about tacos in a thread unrelated to them when a chippay post reminds me of them
and that changes the fact that it triggered the thought of the poem in my mind how? fyi, i do not rely on any "institution" because of 1 simple fact. i'm paranoid, i don't trust anyone.
you're an idiot and you have no idea how much you rely on the government
fyi, i do not rely on any "institution" because of 1 simple fact. i'm paranoid, i don't trust anyone except my family and close friends. hell will be frozen over if i trust some corrupt politician living 500 miles away from me with my well-being.
you rely on the institution in ways you've never realized do you go to a private school?
sometimes Chippay's posts make me think about Tacos, doesn't mean it's ok for me to start posting about tacos in a thread unrelated to them when a chippay post reminds me of them
i appreciate this a lot
i appreciate this a lot
there was a locally owned mexican joint near my house when I was like 5 and the logo looked a lot like your avatar. But it was an aztec dude instead
you rely on the institution in ways you've never realized do you go to a private school?
ironically yes, i do <,< lutheran school k-12th
fyi, i do not rely on any "institution" because of 1 simple fact. i'm paranoid, i don't trust anyone except my family and close friends.
I don't trust anyone either but that doesn't make me an anarchist.
I for one have never relied on the government. Except that time that police officer saved me from a couple muggers. And those times I drove my car on a road. And that time the fire department stopped the fire some arsonist started outside my house. And those 12 years of school I had.
there was a locally owned mexican joint near my house when I was like 5 and the logo looked a lot like your avatar. But it was an aztec dude instead
my avatar is a picture of cyrus the great i cropped and used sepia on some dude on wikipedia made the picture sepia too but i think i did a better job http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/74/8FamousPersianPeople.jpg
ironically yes, i do <,< lutheran school k-12th
how do you get to that school? and do you ever eat at fast food restaurants?
how do you get to that school? and do you ever eat at fast food restaurants?

i do not rely on any "institution" because of 1 simple fact. i'm paranoid, i don't trust anyone except my family and close friends.
if roads are there, good for them. for one city near to mine, not so good for them. the roads are falling apart, and around 1/3 of the roads are closed now. the money they planned on spending to repair the roads went to building a new park and a new library. the city already has multiple parks and 3 libraries. i know this for a fact since i used to live in said city. the city officials seem like excellent people to trust, amirite? i do not "rely" on roads by any means. if the roads went down, i wouldn't bitch and moan about it, God knows that won't help anything. i would find another way to get to my destination or i would just rough it and go through the bad road. in short, there is nothing that would make me sell my soul to a bunch of politicians. edit: someone pm'd me asking why i hardly ever capitalize the beginnings of sentences and proper nouns, my shift buttons are in very odd positions on my laptop keyboard and i have to stretch my fingers an extreme amount to hit them.
Carrying a gun doesn't automatically mean they're going to use it to shoot someone.
how would someone leave a gun somewhere if they didn't take it out of the holster think about it
i do not "rely" on roads by any means. if the roads went down, i wouldn't bitch and moan about it
wow this is about the shittiest reasoning i've seen in months
wow this is about the shittiest reasoning i've seen in months
great job! you managed to pull a quote out of context, leaving out the explanation for the statement. you could get a 70k a year job with the media now :)
great job! you managed to pull a quote out of context, leaving out the explanation for the statement. you could get a 70k a year job with the media now :)
man you are just crashing and burning right now
wow this is about the shittiest reasoning i've seen in months
dude anyone who says they don't rely on the "institution" is a fucking moron considering all the safety regulations, standards and practices, FDA, fuck what's the point of even going on, who runs bartertown
