how so? i simply called someone out on using a biased quote.
Conductor, I do believe the train's on the wrong track. Better tell the engineer to get us back on topic.
dude anyone who says they don't rely on the "institution" is a fucking moron considering all the safety regulations, standards and practices, FDA, fuck what's the point of even going on, who runs bartertown
you don't get what i am trying to say
the government has these precautions set up already, years before i was born.
if by chance, one day, all of this stopped, i wouldn't sit in my house all day doing nothing.
my schedule wouldn't change any because i personally could care less about safety regulations.
i drive a technically non-street legal car for fuck's sake..
sort of off topic, but does anyone know when heroes starts back up?
ironically yes, i do <,< lutheran school k-12th
you know who runs that? God, and he lives way more than 500 miles away
you know who runs that? God, and he lives way more than 500 miles away
nope, the board of members runs it.
great job! you managed to pull a quote out of context, leaving out the explanation for the statement.
you could get a 70k a year job with the media now :)
no, i got what you said perfectly
your reasoning is that you don't rely on roads because if they magically fell apart you would 'rough it'
in short, that is shitty reasoning and you are an idiot

boy oh boy folks, does this person here like to pull out biased quotes.
roughing it or finding another way to your destination seems quite logical to me, at least more logical than either
a. doing nothing
b. bitching and moaning
it may be poopy reasoning to you, but it makes sense to me.
i am an idiot to you, you are an idiot to me.
My opinion on public services:
The 10th Ammendment
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
Roads and things like that should be run by the states. States do already maintain most of the roads; however I think the Federal government owns the Interstates.
But all of these other services should be run by the states and here's why: State governments can't make money out of thin air like the Federal government. So money is always an issue with states and it limits their power.
I don't think the Founding Fathers made the 10th amendment for that reason because back then the Federal Government couldn't create money from thin air either. They believed the states could serve their citizens better than the federal government. People from New York are entirely different compared to people from Wyoming.

the government is why you don't have toenails in your vienne sausages and is what keeps planes from crashing into one another and what ensures that the medicine you take won't cause your retina to detach from your eyeball
in short even though the government may not affect you in your backwater hick shantytown it affects millions upon millions of people's lives every day and you shouldn't be so selfish and simple-minded as to not care about these vital institutions that defend people's standard of living and yes, even their liberty in the form of consumer protection
but considering you said you go to a private school, maybe a little exposure to the world would better you

cool, you explained what i just said

btw quotes assumes i'm using more than one quote, i'm not
bias assumes what i quoted is any different from the bullshit you're spouting, it's not

This is a Very Bad Idea because of what would happen (or rather, what is currently happening) in an economic downturn- look at California for example. Besides the fact that the reason states can't print money is due to the historical precedent that it is bad economic policy. It's like (forgive this analogy, because I am pulling it right out of my ass) Europe before and after the introduction of the Euro, only imagine if Europe was a single nation and not a continent.
The reason the feds controls major highways is due to interstate commerce which falls under the jurisdiction of the federal government

i live in a big, prosperous, industrial city, i go out and attend events every other night, i get lots of social exposure.
i already plan on getting the hell out of america after college, i'm going to go for a bachelor's in scientific and technical communications, then go to either Lichtenstein or South Africa and work doing freelance video/writing work.

Yeah, but all of the other roads are owned by either the state or the county.
And I'm not sure what you mean by it being a bad idea.

so then, what would you do, oh all knowing sir, if you woke up and your road was gone, you had no electricity, and a man in a tigger suit was chasing you?
look back at old times with trailblazers, etc... these people didn't rely on the government for transportation and did perfectly fine.
Yeah, but all of the other roads are owned by either the state or the county.

I elaborated a bit in the edit
mainly it's a bad idea because states aren't immune to retarded economic policy- California's constitution is partly to blame for their economic problems along with out of control fiscal conservative policies (I'm talking about the low taxes = good taxes, even in the face of collapsing public infrastructure types)

do you at least care about the building codes that keep your house from tipping over
you can't just be so flippant about the government
Because our government isn't supposed to serve as the answer to every single one of the people's problems.
Are you really stooping to trying to make health care seem like just a little minor inconvenience?
Rappers with grills are a little problem. People whose opinions are stupid is a little problem. Choosing which finger to have sown back on isn't a little problem.
A single observation about the D.C. on health care.
I'm not seeing any key politicians speaking up or being singled out and attacked by the liberals on health care. The last I remember was Dick Cheney and he seems to have gone quiet. Its more common people getting targeted which may not be the best political strategy in the long run.

They also had a substantially lower standard of living. You might as well have said "Technology? Who needs that? The folks in the Dark Ages got along just fine."
nah nvm
bring crowbar and chicken
decided not to go, it's at a bad time and is 45 minutes away
maybe there will be one closer!
