I heavily doubt it, seeing as tax credits and rebates are given each year, not to mention the healthcare system is free, which means you save money on that end, and you income would have to be 69,505 Euros to even get to 40%. Which, in that case, would be subject to tax rebates and reductions as well. No not really, it's a completely different system. As far as I recall, tax was not added on the consumer side. [editline]12:10AM[/editline] Actually, we are popular for our liberal economy. They can do shit that is not possible outside of the US, buuut, the laws introduced a long time ago has made outsourcing more popular.
Even so, the US economy is faring better than those of Europe during this period.
Even so, the US economy is faring better than those of Europe during this period.
This is about healthcare, not about the economy, the European economy is doing bad because of their over-dependance on each other in the EU.
wat
They don't rely on China as much as we can, and do.
They don't rely on China as much as we can, and do.
No, they do, everything is still made in China when you go to Europe. Except there's also some shit from IKEA.
Oh, I didn't mean drastically. Guess the difference isn't that significant that I should have brought it up, but it exists.
China could potentially ruin us, right now, if they tried to collect what we owe them. Which is why SPENDING ANY MORE UNNECESSARY MONEY is what's killing us. I just hope Obama's not dumb enough to actually consider their offer of forgiving a significant amount of our debt in exchange for a full copy of the blueprints for a B-2 Spirit Bomber, along with some of the rarer parts.

But seriously, they need us just as much as we need them. I'd put it more eloquently, but in short, we're BFFs. Yes, I used that terminology.

Remember the 'spy plane' incident?
...it's a very volatile relationship. Remember the 'spy plane' incident?
Yes, but as you may recall, no nukes were launched. What resulted was the world superpower equivalent of squinting menacingly at each other briefly before returning to puffing on cigars and counting money. The only thing that could result from a breach of our trade agreements in the near future would be both of our countries losing our status at the top, and no realistic war can occur between us at the moment.
I concede, you have a point there. I don't think that the US or China will budge anywhere from their positions as world powers any time soon, though.
MSNBC is as leftist as FOX news is right wing. So I wouldn't really use that as a source. No shit one political party will favor the healthcare plan over another.
i'm really late but holy shit is this ever stupid
This is about healthcare, not about the economy, the European economy is doing bad because of their over-dependance on each other in the EU.
That's only because the original makers of the EU thought it'd be a fun idea to make everything that we need that isn't in the EU have an extra tax on for no real reason :saddowns:
I've got the universal healthcare program offered by my state(MA, I think it's the only state that offers it). Shit sux man. Takes an ass long time to get shit done. It covers my dental care too, my mother made an appointment for me to get braces. I had to wait about 6 and a half months. My friend's parents pay for their health, dental, insurance, he got braces like 2 weeks after they called to make the appointment. I don't WANT universal healthcare when I'm like 30 years old and on my own. I WANT to pay for my healthcare. The less govt control the better. That goes for all things. I don't want them telling me who I can and can't marry, which guns I can and can't have, what my non-existent girlfriend can do with her unborn baby or what healthcare I can have and what I can do with the money I earned from working. Seriously government, GTFO my life. Not to mention there's always a dick-ass long waiting time at the E.R. I don't know if that has anything to do with the universal program we have, though.
I don't WANT universal healthcare when I'm like 30 years old and on my own. And so it happened. What began as a series of small scale conflicts in the rural areas of the nation eventually delved into gigantic protests and riots in large areas of the country. An entire nation which for nearly a century had endured itself as a major player in the world's center had lost itself into a world of it's own destruction. The loss of any sort of competition at the end of the century had driven the traditionally christian, good-vs-evil nation into finding enemies inside itself. Little progress had been made against stopping it's own societies citizens from suffering more and more, ever resistant to the idea that their values - whatever they may be, might be in the wrong. Dragged down by unaccomplished ideals, unpragmatic solutions, corruption at various levels, lack of personal responsibility, and especially lack of empathy and selfishness manifested into incredible economic inequality where rich women rode in sports-cars and fur coats, enjoying their materialistic and hedonistic delights of the physical nature, while young men, women and children sat in increasing poverty across the nation, struggling to feed their family, struggling to afford to treat the mounting diseases and afflictions which poverty had inflicted. Dirty walls stopped being repainted and broken things stopped being repaired. Fleas in pets became normal. Lawns started to grow. Widespread ignorance fueled by religion and the unstoppable drug of popular culture had lead the majority of the populace unable to cope with, or prepare, much less predict the horrors of society preparing to collapsing around them. The government's solutions of social reform failed as inflation and lack of supplies skyrocketed after foreign confidence dropped. Banks collapsed. Oil skyrocketed. First the major institutions of finance, then the commercial sector started to collapse - the restaurants, the jewelry stores, clothing stores, dry cleaners, software companies, car factories, everything which happened to be secondary ended. For a while, there was peace. People lived in relative poverty, surrounded in large homes, surrounded by lawns overgrown in bushes and long grass, among other things. Fuelless cars, broken and empty streets filled with gigantic potholes, and lack of sufficient law and order lasted for a while. Then the people's bottled anger exploded soon after the bottom was reached. Years upon years of living under wealthy conditions envied by nations around the world and the superficial expectation that it was going to remain so forever eroded all sense of reason and sanity. Crime and violence, even civil unrest exploded as people started realizing that they system didn't work anymore. Numerous, insane, illogical ideologies popped up, all over. Military convoys became commonplace in larger cities. Dystopian novels and action movies sat frozen as people we're already living in those conditions of urban neglect and poverty and couldn't afford to fantasize about them - they were living in it. Eventually, law and order became restored. Mass transit consisting of buses with fuel efficient engines and high speed rails instead of vast commuter highways evolved. Electric trains rebounded, becoming one of the greatest methods of transportation. People formed newer, practical cities around government areas and took what they could from the old ruins. People lived simpler lifestyles. A new ideology, or realization, spread forth from the ashes of extravagance and overindulgence, for better or worse. Meanwhile, in another foreign country, another war began which happened to unite the people of this broken nation to rebuild and fight for their ideas again. Once more they learned valuable lessons, but they we're once again forgotten after years and years, only to repeat the cycle again and again, as it had over the past century.
obama can care me aaaaaaaaaaaall niiiiiiiiiiiight

But you shouldn't have a system where the only system is a private system as they will rip you off. Surely if you want private, why don't you go private? You will end up with queues in any hospital, just not in the actual emergency area. Walking wounded can wait longer than those brought in by ambulance. It's about priority as silent victims are often more badly injured than the talkative ones.
Maybe it's just because your political spectrum attracts a lot of stupid people, I'm sorry if they make you look bad.
The fuck, Liberals are just as stupid and violent as Conservatives.

I've typed out at least a dozen paragraphs in the reply box to this thread so far that I've decided not to post. These threads tend to do that to me...
I wish McCarthyism would die out. I really do.

Okay, I'll assume what you all say is true. Just one thing for all of you, name one government run program that is run both well and efficiently.
Pfft just reply and deal with the consequences of it later.
I usually decide that I'm not prepared to explain my posts in enough detail to prove them correct. It's a combination of laziness and Facepunch simply not being worth it.
republicans gave me nightmares when I was a kid they still kind of do
Ogga booga!
