why are they using off-perk weapons

The PC Gamer guy probably just wanted to show the newest weapons in action.

My favorite. Especially equipped with the claymore.
I've always considered gold weaponry a little silly. Wouldn't gold make the gun crappy as a firearm? It's alright to make a decorative gun (or pretty much anything) with gold, but it's a pretty weak material in terms of use with weaponry. Looks pretty, all the same.
Might play Killing Floor for a bit to check this stuff out.
This...is a video game
So are the steampunk weapons a priced dlc again or what?
I want this game to go on sale so I can play it, I never have :~(
lol i traded it for 2 crappy tf2 guns, not even hats
So are the steampunk weapons a priced dlc again or what?
Considering it's a "Community Weapon Pack", most likely. Great.

It's true :suicide:
I too hate supporting indie developers.
They were obviously fine for years selling character packs for $1.99, I bought all of them, but gameplay changing items for 5x that price? No way. I can't believe I have to stress this more than once, especially with the fact that they're fine with releasing single character dlcs and claiming they're 'premium', and putting a price tag higher than entire groups of characters now, it's a blatant move to take more money, especially with how lazily they're made.

Steampunk tommygun, steampunk grenade launcher, steampunk m14, steampunk shotgun that has a ~knockback ability~
Where did Tripwire go wrong oh no they're ruining the perfect balance of my coop game that is not even the least bit competitive!
Seriously it's not a big issue yeah it might suck that they're charging for it but the game has been updated freely since 2009 so the content everyone has gotten outweighs two paid weapon packs. The vast majority of people have bought the game for like $7 on a sale to boot.
They've also released one weapons pack for free anyway. All I hear is my friends trashtalking tripwire and people on facepunch whining about an indie dev trying to make some cash. And you know maybe they're not fine anymore. I know Red Orchestra 2 had a rocky start (understandable since it was buggy and optimized) but it looks like they're doing fairly well with Rising Storm. Maybe they're trying to get some extra revenue to develop a new game and a weapons pack made by players is a good way to support the game, the community, and theirselves. The summer update itself is free anyway and now they've opened up the possibility for some great campaign-ish maps.
Not much to complain about really.
You didn't touch the Flare Pistol or Buzzsaw bow. Having them makes you objectively better than those using the perk and who don't have them.

Someone kills zeds faster. It's not like the game has turned pay2win and you gotta buy the new Mr. Foster Xtreme player to get +200% health and the deathmatch mode. It's a coop game.
Kind of fucks with the balancing but they've nerfed things anyway like the Anti Material rifle so they might nerf others.
I don't see people using either of those weapons often anyway anyway.

This steam powered rifle is going to have an awesome set of animations.
Dat golden chainsaw...
Buzzsaw bow is kinda shit.
[editline]3rd July 2013[/editline]
People exaggerate the strength of the Flare revolver, it's a great firebug secondary but mac 10 is still relevant.
The Flare Revolver is also really great offperk, as it is light, cheap, powerful due to burn damage, and dual-wielding incase you need to punch through a field of zeds in front of you. The only downside is that it is harder to hit zeds from long range, as the flares are projectiles. In compassion, the MAC-10 is worthless offperk, due to not lighting up zeds then.
The Buzzsaw Bow is overrated though. Everyone who doesn't have the DLC thinks it instakills everything from a distance, and has unlimited ammo due to being able to recover saws.
Guess what, there are very few maps where you can recover saws easily. If you use it outside, it will probably just disappear in the scenery, leaving you with the grand total of 16 saws, which are also expensive in the ammo department.
They should add this to the patch notes:
-Game is unplayable until the event is over. GG.
SHUT YOUR MOUTH
I've bought the DLC's, but they don't seem to be in game yet. Suppose the main update has to hit first.
Never mind. All works now.
They should add this to the patch notes:
What are you talking about? I had an error when I started the game but after verifying the files it worked fine.
Are the new weapons worth getting?
(Also does Ringmaster Lockheart sound familiar to anyone else?)
He does... who is he?
Are the new weapons worth getting?
I can give some info on all 4 DLC weapons:
Single Piston Long Musket: Basically a LAR w/ a fancy scope, magazine fed instead of the usual one-by-one bullet reload, and shoots lasers. (Damage-wise, seems the same too.)
Orca Bomb Propeller: M79 damage, much less projectile speed as said weapon, acts like a thrown grenade.
Multi-Chambered ZED Thrower: Like the HSG/KSG Shotgun, only w/ 2 less shells in the magazine, has a alt-fire "blast back", basically like the Dwarfs Axe knockback.
Dr. T's Lead Delivery System: Same as Tommy Gun, only with 20 more bullets due to drum magazine.
All I know so far from experience from them, sorry if my info is inaccurate.
