Don't get your hopes up yet. Opinion polls, strangely, don't often reflect accurately the actual votes. Lots of Canadians who might support the NDP might not care enough to vote at all. But I've got my fingers crossed. [editline]27th April 2011[/editline] Jack Layton one day swore he'd never shave his 'stache off until he became elected Prime Minister. I wonder what he'll look like without it.
If he makes it to that position, I doubt he'll remember so someone would should mention that as the first question fielded to him in an official press conference.

I will end up voting NDP, though my city has always been very Liberal.
After what a terrible job the NDP mayor did in Toronto, and what a terrible job I've heard Bob Rae did as the NDP Premier of Ontario, and after listening to Peggy Nash claim the NDP will pull millions of dollars out of their ass for shit that sounds amazing (lowering tuition, funding government housing) but that they can't afford, I can't say that I really want them in another leadership role. I foresee that if they do get elected, they'll do some of; rack up a huge debt, impose something like "Rae Days" (Provincial workers had to work a week for no pay) om a federal scale, not live up to their promises, and/or not know what to do and end up messing the country up. At the moment there's nobody I really like a whole lot in this campaign, maybe if Gerard Kennedy was leading the Liberals and they swapped out Harper in the Conservative party things would look a bit better, and if the Tories get another minority, we may see just that. Matter of fact, we may see new faces leading every party next election (which is probably going to be sometime in 2012/2013).

We had a surplus before he became Prime minister. Now we're tits-deep in debt.
Don't forget that we were ass-deep in a recession so spending for stimulus helps, but I honestly don't know who I'd vote for.

Any other election I'd agree, but I think people are finally tired of Alan Tonks doing fuck-all, I can really see Mike Sullivan winning this riding for the NDP.

My best guess is Quebec.
Wait, where's that from?
Alberta
this looks suspiciously like when the libdems were leading in the polls that one time last year in britain then everything went tits up and they backstabbed everyone
You need to name the province/area in these posts, dude. My best guess is Quebec.
God no, do you see the BQ up there? I'm no Frenchie. A quick Google of the name of the incumbent I mentioned, Alan Tonks, as well as those of Mike Sullivan, the NDP candidate and John Nunziata whom I mentioned would bring up York South-Weston, Toronto.
According to these graphs, the NDP has the leading support in Atlantic and Quebec, and will soon have SK-MB. Every other region is Conservative lead. http://www.sfu.ca/~aheard/elections/polls-scatter-plot-2011.html
Fucking sucks that southern Ontario is conservative. What the fuck are they thinking?
Just out of curiosity; what was it that made NDP grow so big under such a short period of time?
Fucking sucks that southern Ontario is conservative. What the fuck are they thinking?
I feel your pain bro, I too am a southern-Ontarian. There's conservative lawn signs everywhere. I haven't seen a single NDP or Green sign, and I've only seen a handful of Liberal ones. [editline]27th April 2011[/editline]
Just out of curiosity; what was it that made NDP grow so big under such a short period of time?
I've been wondering this as well. My guess is that nobody really likes Ignatieff that much. A lot of people just vote for parties based on the personality of their leader, and Ignatieff is a bit of a cunt.
Just out of curiosity; what was it that made NDP grow so big under such a short period of time?
Perhaps on-the-fence members of the Bloc Quebecois, Liberal, and Green Parties want to make sure that the party with arguably the biggest ideological difference from the Conservatives is in more of a powerful position. Whether that position be as the main opposition party or as a minority government.

Do they honestly think the conservatives give a fuck about the working class people in Canada?
Just out of curiosity; what was it that made NDP grow so big under such a short period of time?
People are fed up with the status quo I guess.

Everyone else votes conservative, regardless of whether they're a small-business employee or factory worker etc. It's absolutely ridiculous how uninformed people are.

I was talking to one of my friends and despite him knowing about Harpers fuckups, he's still going to vote Conservative because his parents do.

My rich brother is voting conservative. My teacher brother is voting NDP, my middle brother with 3 kids is voting liberal. I'm voting NDP, our parents are voting conservative. It does scare me to see families just vote as one without any thought between them.
My family is rather conservative, I know both my parents vote for them, even though they refuse to say who they voted for, it's obvious. If I could vote (2 fucking weeks from my birthday, pisses me off), I'd either vote fruitlessly for them here, and practically throw my vote away (my riding has no hope in hell of getting a Tory MP), or strategically vote NDP, just to get the useless Liberal MP who doesn't do anything out of power.

Because I hate them the least, I could very well ask you the same about whatever party you want to vote. People have different priorities and opinions, and mine is that the Conservatives would do the least bad job at parliament. Not that they'd do the best, nobody running right now would do the best, but that the Conservatives would do the least worst.
