Boris Johnson is Tories' favourite to succeed David Cameron as leader
of course I wouldn't rather have Cameron. as I say, almost everyone there is to vote for is either two-faced, extremely disagreeable, or super incompetent.
thinking about it, I guess "he isn't a dick" is as good a reason to vote as any.
My overall point is that I don't think Boris is at all super incompetent, and that people only believe so because of his mannerisms and jokes. Anybody in doubt should watch him in Question Time, I saw a different side to him completely and I wouldn't love him so much otherwise.
He only became mayor due to his hair

You must also change your avatar to those two pictures, fading back and forth.
I think the way he throws his voice and tells jokes leads people to believe he's less smart than he actually is.

this is why he's so dangerous, politically speaking - people either underestimate him (usually to their cost) or people vote for him because they think he's likeable.
Sad how one of the most overtly disingenuous politicians is also the most popular because he's such a card lol
Although I do quite like Boris, the thing that puts me off of him being PM is the thought of him representing us on visits to other countries, etc. I can't help imagining him embarrassing himself (and therefore the UK) at a high-status international event.
In one sense though, I'd vote for him for a laugh. Boris as PM would be an interesting situation and like somebody else said, somebody who isn't afraid of the media would be a nice change.
Although he appears a bumbling fool, he is a very clever bloke.
Doesn't use spin, and you know what you're going to get.
I like him.
As much as I don't mind him, since he's much more socialist than the other Tories, voting him in also means voting in the Tories which I just couldn't abide, so I'd still rather have Labour.
Even if he was the PM, it's not like he'd single-handedly run the government. It'd just give us something to laugh at.
Although he is a bit goofy, he is meant to be pretty intelligent. Still not sure I would want him running the country though.
I wouldn't vote for him but I certainly wouldn't mind if he won.
Lord help us if this carp gets into office.

if this man was Prime Minister, I would be very happy. :)

Can't beat this guy

It'd be nice to have a human as a PM for a change, someone with personality.
I'd like to see him as PM. For a politician, he's a very "human" sort of person.
He would be quite amusing at PM's question time.

Labour is in an existential crisis. Again.
Plus, there isn't much difference between the two now since both parties are targeting the middle class (or Middle England, whatever the fuck that is) since they are the swing voters.

People seem to have this strange idea that Labour are different to the other two main parties, even though they're all pretty much in the middle of the compass and have been for ages. The only time they have any different policies is at election time, or if it's something small that won't cause any trouble. And near enough every single one of the people in government and shadow-government will do or say pretty much anything to be as popular as possible, to keep those paychecks rolling in.
Can you imagine if a world war started and he was in charge? You'd want Cameron back then...
So you're just going to go ahead and refuse to accept anything anyone says if they have any faint conservative views? That's really shallow.
he said he doesn't like tory policy. that could be as vague as "not liking right-ring stuff" or as specific as not liking their entire manifesto. you know, that kind of thing is what you base your voting off. what kind of thing do you base your vote off? clearly not politics. boris johnson is a conservative. he won't get a vote from me because he is a conservative. no amount of 'hilarious' boff activity will change that
Speaking of policies, wouldn't it be hilarious if they were honest about their intentions at election time:
Conservative: "We promise that if we are elected, we will tax the living hell out of everything, because we like money."
Labour: "We promise that if we are elected, we will convince you that everything bad in the universe is the fault of the Conservatives. Specifically a woman who retired from politics 20 years ago."
Lib Dem: "We promise that if we are elected, we will shit ourselves."

Britain was so different before and after Thatcher, for example. In fact, many were speculating that the UK would be like the Scandinavia today if Thatcher didn't got in (I don't know if their guess is true). I don't have any strong feelings on New Labour (except for Iraq), but they've become similar to Tory. The Lib-Dem are still 'hippie' when it comes to Social issues but Centre-Right on the economy like the others.
