To be honest, we kind of need another war of at least some sort because both WWI and WWII are where the majority of the world's inventions come from. However, with nuclear weapons existing, it becomes a whole lot more risky.

Facism is a terrible thing, but this is a natural response to a time of shortage. That is, is creates prefferential rationing. It's a shame, but if the Greeks agree that "true" Greeks come first then that's unfortunately how it is. They would rather the people they care about, know, and have ties to get theirs before someone else does.
