If the place was stabilized and the corruption dealt with, there wouldn't be room for a power vacuum.
The allure of major cash hauls from drug trade is the prime threat. Kill 1 kingpin another will eagerly jump up to strike it rich.
You will NEVER get rid of the drug "problem"
The war on drugs has only made drugs more accessible and cartels stronger and deadlier.

Only because it's corrupt and unstable. If it were stable, there wouldn't be any room for a Cartel to operate, thus no power vacuums.
DEA Info
Does the pope shit in the woods?
Clear and Present Danger much?
It's common knowledge. The DEA wasn't made by the government to enforce drug laws, it was made to protect major drug assets.
Common knowledge =/= proof, it was common knowledge that the sun rotated around the Earth.

We are going to advise these syndicates so hard
Uh, if those drugs should be legal why should everything else be illegal
So meth, cocaine, pcp, heroin, ketamine, shrooms, ect, should be legal? Because they have no negative effects at a- oh wait. Seriously, if they were legal, the next generation would be filled with a bunch of people fucked up all the time and overdosing, costing even more money for health expenses.

The legislation shouldn't be based on "does x have good effects", it should be based on "a person has a right to do this with their own body".
I read 'DEA commando deployed in Central America' and imagined Rambo.

Legalizing all drugs isn't going to cause a tremendous boom in users and overdoses. An average person isn't going to wake up one day and say Hey since Meth/Heroin/PCP is legal now I think I'll go try some.

Rambo never went to Central America
I never watched Rambo, but I thought it anyway.

Shrooms are bad, yet DMT is fine? Ketamine is used legally, same with methamphetamine and heroin analogues.
The most overdosed drug is paracetamol/Acetaminophen
better ban that!
The legislation shouldn't be based on "does x have good effects", it should be based on "a person has a right to do this with their own body".
I agree with you that a person should have rights to do what they want to their own body. Though, I'll be honest with you, I think a druggie overdosing shouldn't have any assistance paying for the medical bills that go with a hospital visit. No way. If you're stupid enough to actually overdose, the law of nature ought to take over and you die. Or pay a lot of money for your stupidity.
That goes for any drug under the sun.

Why not extend that to other legal things?
You have heart problems and you had a bad diet at one point in your life, well, that your fault. You break your leg skiing, well, that's a risky activity so that's your fault, no health-care for you and so on.
The solution is to tax the drugs enough to subsidize their treatment.
Hell, if more people were addicted to drugs, it would increase jobs in the healthcare sector
Everyone wins!

Everyone wins!
Well, you can't really prove a "bad diet" will kill you. My grandfather ate the most raunchy, disgusting food for 83 years and finally died of cancer. He also cleaned up Hiroshima after WWII and within ten years, half his platoon died of cancer. On the flip side, my fourth grade teacher was a health freak, died of a heart attack at 39. An overdose, however, is something that's obviously bad for your health, a lot like a loaded shotgun under the chin is bad for your health.
We should tax the hell out of drugs anyway. :P
Weren't they in Afghanistan also?
Weren't they in Afghanistan also?
Probably. Alot of the terrorist funding came from their opium fields. And the CIA

We aren't talking just about overdosing we are talking about drugs. Besides if you overdose it isn't necessarily your fault. Everyone reacts differently to medication, for example, the recommended dosage for Adderall XR is 20 mg a day but I tried 20mg a day, then 30, and kept increasing until I had a dosage that worked on me, now I have been taking two 30mg capsules a day, every day for the past three years.

I agree absolutely!
I was on adderall, but the recommended usage wasn't enough. I started taking 20mg, then 30mg. At this point, I decided it would be cheaper if I started snorting it. I put 50mg through my nose every few hours and I'm perfect! It took me about 3.6 seconds to write this entire post!
What can I say, I guess I'm a a winner
