ive been trying to get the address of jerry martin, the guy who composed pretty much every Sim game up until the sims 3 so i can write him a letter about how fucking badass he is and how the sims 1 has one of the greatest soundtracks of all time.

Yes and no.
Superstar has nothing to do with Freetime or Ambitions, and is more along the lines of Late Night (I don't see how you could miss it since the primary focus of Late Night was the addition of celebrities and bands).
Also Uni and Generations have nothing in common, as University was about College and Generations doesn't have that feature (the graduation style pose on the cover art and trailer are about high school graduation parties, not college).
But yeah, they do tend to recycle expansions. I think with the Sims 2, they went; new idea, rehashed Sims 1 expansion, new idea, rehash, new idea, rehash, etc.
I fucking love simlish songs. That one in the pets trailer is so awesome.

No, when I played the Sims 1 as a kid it was pretty clear that its a made up language.
