It's not a direct AK copy at all. Rather a crossbreed between the SKS and the AK. NK never received any of those rifles, instead they have direct AK clones some of which they manufacture themselves. In China they were phased out of service in favor of the newer QBZ. Those that remain are used mostly by military law enforcement agencies. Such as the ones in this picture.

Well, actually I knew that beforehand but it's more or less an AK clone in aesthetics, so that's why I said that. And North Korea does have Type 81's I believe that it bought off China, but yeah I agree with you, it's most likely Chinese soldiers. That's still pretty fucking despicable.
