So they introduce ads and you people proclaim that the whole software has "gone to shit", dramatic more? They give us free to use software, just think of it as a way of giving something back to them.
Sure, so should notepad++, media players, music players, linux distros, every other free app. The win8 weather app has ads so I guess paid apps should introduce ads too. The future is here. How about no?
omg ads :( i understand that it doesn't need the money and all the other reasons, but its just ads
Not to mention they appear to be making them optional because of the backlash.
Not to mention they appear to be making them optional because of the backlash.
Good thing they can listen
Good thing they can listen
Wouldn't bother me personally either way. They weren't going to be pop-up ads were they? If they were, then I could understand people being angry, but if it's just an image of something they're advertising in the background on like a main page or some shit, wouldn't bother me in the slightest. I just suppose more / most people are pickier.

When frankly, it's not that big a deal, most people have uTorrent minimized anyway. The program itself hasn't really changed, just ads.
You can't advertise in the background and utorrent has no main page.
No, I know this, but I mean adding a homepage-esque thing, that wouldn't bother me. Really, the only ads that bother me are the ones that pop up when you try to do something.
why do people still use utorrent instead of transmission?
why do people still use utorrent instead of transmission?
Habits and the fear of trying something new and having to learn different things.
why do people still use utorrent instead of transmission?
Because linux. The windows ports are quite poor for the most part.
Okay honestly, you guys are being greedy fucking tards. But I forgot, you think torrenting videogames from companies you don't like somehow doesn't give them justification to use DRM.
Habits and the fear of trying something new and having to learn different things.
no, because utorrent works fine and a small ad isn't going to put me off using it
Yes, because advertising your games and software to people illegally downloading games and software is a great advertising strategy!
As funny as what you said sounds, the reality is that pirates generally spend a great deal of money on media, far more than the average user. Advertising to them isn't a bad idea... but intruding on their actual torrent client might be. Hard to say.
Okay honestly, you guys are being greedy fucking tards. You need to get educated man.
