A Far Cry game based on the world of Shangri-La from Far Cry
I bet this one got exactly zero votes.
The Alaska setting sounds cool. Mostly I just want more replayability, no stuttering, and no goddamn mouse acceleration.
Why do some of these choices have to be a Far Cry game?
3/4 of them seem good as stand alone games. Keep Far Cry the way it is now and how it always has been. Don't change it to some silly western or a jurassic park spin off. Make those into NEW IPs
Dinosaurs PLEASE
The Vietnam War setting would be rather welcome to me, haven't found a good game of those in quite a while, but a Spaghetti Western setting would be awesome as fuck too.

They could really do really well with an open world Spaghetti Western game, especially with over the top characters, but I have a feeling that even if they name it something different everyone will just call it Far Cry: 1895 or something.
set far cry 5 in an 1800's version of alaska after bad cocaine turned everyone into zombie vampires and plunged the world into a mad max style post apocalyptic world where the player is a time-travelling vietnam vet who, after being abducted from his camp in vienam back in 1967 and flung to the future where he fought against Grotang Drobangang and his crew of cyber-hustlers, is plunged in the past after his victory against teh cyber-ne-er-do-wells, with all sorts of high tech weaponry, and must unite the local warring tribes of inuits against remants of the US militaries DINOCORPS and bring a stop to their plans of unsealing the portal to shangr-la in order to harness the mystical energy to remold the world as they see fit.
I'm hoping what they mean for some of the zanier ones is Blood Dragon style expansions. I think the main series should stay mainly killing shit in cool realistic environments that we haven't seen a lot mof, but the DLC's should be wacky.
All these settings sound fucking fantastic (Which FC as a series has been great a doing, making awesome settings). But I'm just worried its going to be another copy-paste mechanics of FC3.
i could REALLY go for a western one if they amped up the surreal horror elements to eleven. fuck it get that cowboy from Mulholland Drive as the bad guy i would be down for it

imagine THIS in a Far Cry game
I'd rather see the distinction between good and evil disappear a bit (more), maybe allow you to choose if you're a good or bad guy. In FC4 it was just the cliché totalitarian/militaristic regime guys versus the poor locals, same with FC3.

You just sold a copy.

Imagine coming across outposts like this

If they go for the sci-fi route, they NEED to give us a jetpack within the first couple of hours. I mean, being able to jetpack around the surface of an open alien planet would be pretty fun indeed, so long as it isn't locked behind arbitrary unlock conditions like "kill X shellbeasts with the laserblade".
Also, no matter what direction they take for a spinoff, they should let us carry a dedicated melee weapon around, since while Ajay can perform takedowns and skin animals with a knife he pulls out of his butt, you don't get much of an opportunity to engage in a true knife-fight or cross swords with your enemy. Guns are fun, but can't really match the awesomeness of a good sword-fight.
Western Far Cry with some ideas from the most recent Call of Juarez and what people liked from Red Dead Redemption, more players in co-op, big map, tons of sidequests, multiple endings from the franchise would work PERFECTLY in that setting (you could end with the choices of good, bad, evil, etc), have great characters, horseplay based on how people loved Elephants in FC4, great old west soundtrack.
IT'S JUST PERFECT
To be honest, almost all of these sound like good ideas... well done Ubisoft?
I want Jack Carver and mutant form back. Hell, just Jack would be nice.

Pretty sure there's a lot more to FC3 than just totalitarian dictatorship vs locals stuff. If you dig a little deeper, it runs past that quite a lot. The overall story was still kinda shit though.

What are you saying? That plot was worthy of the TATAU!
All of them please
Dinosaurs in far cry would be so fun and could work so well. But so do a lot of other choices, I hope they keep this kind of creativity up.
Can't they just throw everything from the poll into one game minus the blood dragon sequel and do that seperate? too many good options to choose from there if they did those games in sequence seperately they've got the FC franchise sorted for at least the next 5-8 years.
How's about they make a new IP and not drive the Far Cry franchise screaming into the sand like they did with Assassins Creed?
I'd love a game based on Mad Max style universe but I am 99% sure that Ubisoft would completely fuck it up.
As good as some of these sound, when I put it into perspective, I see tower climbing, bland storylines and bugs galore.
I suppose we'll have to wait and see
The Peru, Alaska, and Vietnam ideas sound good for Far Cry sequels. The others should all be their own things with unique mechanics.

Because that would mean not reusing most of the previous game's content.
I like a lot of those ideas, but I couldn't get into FC3 and FC4 - the gunplay was hilariously bad and the game itself repetitious and boring. If they just do FC: *insert title here* and it's more of the same in a new setting, I can't see myself playing it. Milk on, Ubisoft. It's the only thing you're good at.
Am I the only one who hopes that they revisit the Far Cry 2 setting and actually finish it?
These all sound interesting and fun
Hard not to go with apocalypse wasteland, especially since nobody feels like making Fallout 4 apparently
I was expecting them to add an option for an Australian campaign, but those choices were much better.
I'll take the western style scifi planet with a side of dinosaurs and drug trafficking please.
I think devs should do stuff like this a lot more from now on.
Seriously you can't go wrong, it shows you're involved in the community and you'll get more sales since you can see what most people want.
