E-cigarettes to fall under Queensland tobacco laws
Why do people even use e-cigarettes if it's not a faze before quitting ? It's like instead eating a pizza you eat a pizza flavored chips. Use the real thing or just quit.
if i never used an e-cig i would of never quit smoking cigarettes

That's kind of foolish. Since it's actually effectively getting tobacco users to quit and moving the "coolness" over to vapour, I think it's quite important that it is advertised.
I personally find it hilarious to see E-Cig ads that say "The NEW smoking is here".

I think most smokers are aware of vaporizers, and they are probably just a google search away if you search for like "how to quit smoking" or something, they'd probably reommend it. Also, regular cigarettes arent advertised but people are still damn good at starting smoking.
Here's the thing about ecigs in america- big tobacco is fighting against them hard. They see smoking as their market and though they've invested heavily (read- bought out) into disposables they want a full ban of everything not under their direct control.
The American proposals under consideration include things like a half mill permit fee (that needs reissued every year) to any store or manufacturer involved with ejuice/ ecig hardware. This would kill the American market and force people to have such items shipped from less "quality orientated" places (would you vape Chinese eliquid?)
Vaping might need regulating, but it needs to be done in a way that doesn't decimate American producers/ sellers.
Oh yeah, the health of others is ridiculous.
As an Asthma sufferer, I absolutely hate any sort of smoker, even the vapors mess with me.
it's really funny, I'm a 20 a day smoker, and since I know how terrible cigarettes are I make especially sure to avoid smoking around people (IE don't smoke out on the street, don't smoke where children are, don't smoke in confined spaces even if they are open air) but because there's been no long campaign of etiquette with E cigarettes half the users I meet seem to think it's just cool to vape up where ever, regardless of how rude or antisocial it seems
To the people saying they encourage non-smokers to take up the habit: There's actually research that illustrates that just isn't true.
my opinion of ecigs was formed when some jackass in a movie theater used it and the smoke blocked half the screen
they need to follow the same rule as real cigs in terms of limiting where to do it.
I actually agree with them. Smoking area, yes. No selling to minors, yes. No advertising them like toys, yes.
They're still being used to imbibe an addictive substance, and I really don't want the restaurant I'm in filled with a vape fog.
Should be the liquid that they regulate, not the actual device. And only if it contains actual nicotine I think.
I mean, you wouldn't make it so that you had to be 19 to buy a wine glass now would you?

I'm perfectly fine with this though, but that can be handled by the owners of the property better I think.

You can't look to legislation to fix everything in your life that annoys you.
I see no reason not to allow store owners to ban vaping on their premises, but when people think they need to involve government to fix something that is nothing more than a minor nuisance to them, it astounds me.

I guess cell phones should be banned in movie theaters as well.
There's a big difference between being a douchebag and doing something that should be made illegal.
