The people who rely on the NHS. In England the headlines are "the NHS is on a cliff edge". In Scotland, it was "Only staying in the union can protect the NHS". The less fortunate in our society, will be treated far harsher by a conservative government we otherwise wouldn't have. The unemployed, the disabled, etc. The foreigners, if UKIP gets in a coalition. European citizens here to study. Asylum seekers. Anyone ever, that is inconvenienced or treated poorly by the future Tory governments is someone who may have lost out here.
Yep, its my firm belief that more than the 45% who voted Yes will come to regret this result in the future. Nonetheless, I am proud of the Scottish people for such a high turnout. We'll never see its like again in the UK, I wager.
Goddamnit, I want a new map to look at. At least Russia is doing good, if people would fucking recognize it.
Who exactly are these people who will suffer from Scotland remaining in the United Kingdom?
The poorest and most vulnerable in our society. Thankfully I'm not one of them, I'm lucky enough to be a reasonably well off working/middle-class white male, but that doesn't mean I don't care about social justice for every single person that lives here. Being friends with a lot of foreign students (from Germany to Russia, from Tanzania to Australia, even from England to America) at Glasgow university has given me an insight on a lot of issues foreigners in this country face, and working for an energy company has given me an insight into the hardship a lot of the poorest people. I wanted to make this a better place for them all, because there's no reason they can't call this their home the same way I do because I happened to pop out of a womb in Falkirk, but it will be a lot harder with a more right wing (read: very possible Conservative/UKIP coalition due to England's voting habits) government come May 2015. He handled that a hell of a lot better than the Quebec separatists did in '95. No blaming it on immigrants or rich people, no bitter refusal to accept that he lost. Rather admirable of him.
Making a win out of a loss i.e damage control.
Literally the only other option is him being a sore loser, condemning the choice, and being a rude prick. Nice to see how you view this.
the newspapers have said that the NHS is on a cliff edge for as long as I can remember jesus christ you're acting like your country just decided to stay with the third reich
I remember a big front-page splash in The Sun screaming that the NHS was about to slide into a flaming pit of satanic worship and anarchy RIGHT NOW and there was NOTHING ANYONE COULD DO. PANIC. FEEL FEAR, PUNY FLESH-CREATURE, FOR YOU WILL BE STRIPPED TO THE BONE BY THE GREAT ROGUE NHS-DROID. This was in 2005. Utter scaremongering bollocks.
More like it's bullshit to act angry and outraged over your vote not winning and then changing your mind completely only after getting shat on. At least give it a day so it can sound believable. That would be like if I were to now say "I hate gays" and then after a few post of getting shat on I go "Did I say that? I meant they're cool folks" :v:
Fucking hell, it's no wonder that usually nobody on this forum want to admit they were wrong about anything.
