you don't actually know that. stop projecting
all we know is that one bigot complained to management and blew the whole thing out of proportion
How would people even know if they don't tell them. and "Just seeing it" isn't good enough.
Though to be fair, I don't see anything saying she was open about it. so really all anyone can do is just assume.
The picture wasn't related to the article, so I take my post back.
It's totally okay for him to have a penis and he shouldn't have been fired.

Speaking of projecting, how do we know a "bigot" against transsexuals reported it? Did we read the same article?
hahaha it sounds like she was trying to be so crazy that she'd get fired and sue
i mean come on who actually wears a dildo in their trousers when they want to 'feel what its like to have a penis'
People who are in the middle of transitioning.

because they went out of their way to bitch to management about something completely harmless. obviously this woman is transitioning and feels the need to let other people know
you know, something most mature, level-headed adults wouldn't get overly upset about
If I walked around my work with a fleshlight in my pants telling people I had a fake vagina I'm fairly sure I'd be fired, I don't see why this is different.

living up to your name I see
let me humor you: it's different because you are not in the process of transitioning. all you're doing is walking around with a fleshlight in your pants for the sole purpose of being offensive

How do you know he's not considering it? You bigot!
How do you know he's not considering it? You bigot!
if you're not actually going to contribute to the conversation could you please just not post?
there are a couple things about this that bother me
my question is why did she feel she needed to tell her coworkers about it? I can understand that part of identifying with the opposite gender is seeing things from a different social perspective especially if you're doing something like wearing a fake dong; however, she should know that that's not an appropriate subject to bring up at the workplace. you're friendly with your colleagues, yes, but on average you're not nearly close enough with them to bring that up without causing major discomfort. I understand her motives, but she still should have known to keep it in her pants. Similarly, I don't fault whatever colleague reported her, precisely because it's an inappropriate subject for the workplace. I highly doubt they knew management would fire her over the incident. They probably just wanted the boss to get her to stop making people uncomfortable. I think it's unfair to call that person a bigot or an asshole without knowing all the facts.
The only thing that's indisputable is that the person who did the firing is a fucking cunt.
Futhermore, as MSNBC noted, Davis also claims a male employee who was undergoing hormone treatments and wore female clothing to the workplace was treated more favorably. "[Ms. Davis] was subjected to disparate and discriminatory treatment for being a female, and for being a female who identified with the male gender," the lawsuit states, according to The Times-Tribune.

I somehow doubt there is a clause explicitly in their employee's manual saying that going to work with a distinctly noticeable bulge of a penis in your pants is grounds for employment termination.
I don't know if you've ever had a job before besides like flipping burgers or something but most places don't have employee manuals.

if the only difference between males and females was in the pants I'd agree with you but she could have changed her mannerisms before throwing a plastic dong in her pants
so much projecting and transphobia in this thread

sorry, you have no idea what you're talking about or how transitioning works. don't pass judgement on people when you clearly don't understand what you're spewing
so much projecting and transphobia in this thread
I don't see any. the issue isn't about transsexuals, it's about decency and common sense. There's a time and place for everything and the workplace isn't a good place to prance around with a fake erect cock in your skin-tight pants.

try reading the fucking thread. the picture in the OP has nothing to do with the story
also you could at least try to veil your obvious transphobia
the workplace isn't a good place to prance around with a fake erect cock in your skin-tight pants.
she wasn't wearing skintight pants she works at a factory, typically factory workers wear coveralls.
transgender* not transsexuals
^although upon further reading the difference is muddled in semantics and the two mean different things to different people
sorry, you have no idea what you're talking about or how transitioning works. don't pass judgement on people when you clearly don't understand what you're spewing
I'm gonna be honest, you're really stupid. transitioning isn't just throwing a penis on someone and calling it a day.
If she had to keep the prosthetic on, she could have at least not told her coworkers about it. I don't talk about my real penis to my peers, she shouldn't talk about her fake one.
try reading the fucking thread. the picture in the OP has nothing to do with the story

If they didn't know she was transitioning, finding out by hearing "Hey I have a fake penis in my pants" is inappropriate, if they did know, it was unnecessary for her to tell them she was wearing a fake penis because they already knew she was transitioning.
In both cases it was unnecessary to tell her coworkers, theres a time and a place to share personal things like that and its not in the workplace.

lmao do you guys have access to information the rest of us don't have or were you there or something because outside of "confided in several coworkers" we literally no nothing about what happened

transgender and transsexual are synonyms (though transsexual has become a sort of pejorative recently). Transvestite is the one that's about sex rather than gender identification.

I'm not transphobic. I'm not even sure where you're getting that impression.

Everyone keeps assuming that she went shouting it through the halls. To me it sounds like she told a few people who presumably would either be interested and/or tolerant out of trust. That's what the word "confided" connotates. It then got to the person who reported it.
transgender and transsexual are synonyms
no they're not. gender and sexual identity are entirely different
it's fair to assume that people with idiotic opinions on transgenderism are transphobes until proven otherwise

no lol transvestite is just another word for crossdresser
transgender and transsexual can be synonyms according to some but their meanings are more complicated the further into the world of LGBT you look.

So how did it get to the person who reported it? either she was shouting it through the halls or she told someone who shouldn't have been told about it.

"did you hear Mary Sue is wearing a fake dong as part of her transgender transition thing"
"WHAAAAAT"
honestly do you think before you post

What idiodic opinions on transgenderism do I have? I haven't voiced my opinions about transgenderism as a whole, I'm looking at this as an individual case of an attention whore who happened to also be transgender.

how do you know that she is an "attention whore?"
in other words, when are you going to admit that all you're doing is projecting your latent transphobia?
I don't know if you've ever had a job before besides like flipping burgers or something but most places don't have employee manuals.
I've worked quite a few corporate jobs where they seriously did have a large employee manual that describes what is and is not okay in the office. Strangely enough, one of the Don'ts is make sexual comments that could be seen offensive to a coworker.
how do you know that she is an "attention whore?"

Because she was telling people that she had a fake penis in her pants? Does that not sound like attention whore to you?
