Seriously, everyone should read, or at least read some of the Qur'an, it can help give perspective and understanding.
Do you legitimately think that IP geolocation is the most accurate thing to determine someones location?

Some people would rather read the original, unabridged material and make their own opinions rather than read someone else's summary.
*Sigh* keep the hate of religions out.•
I'm not a muslim, but it dosnt take one to know that the Qur'an's qurotes are being misunderstood/misused/rewritten like other religions has been(aka like the bible).
I view all religions that got blood in them equally useless, and as another form of propaganda.•
Sadly small minds can't filter that out.
Instead we need to get those behind it all.

If you haven't read the book, how can you even begin to make that claim?

Many muslims followdifferent schools of Islam.
When you want to discuss what Islam teaches, you've got to look at what people ACTUALLY interpret from the sources(aka the schools), not whatever you interpret yourself from it(although that is also necessary)
what the fuck philippines?
Do you realize that if you cherrypick lines from a book and then cherrypick something somebody is doing, you can always find a ton of correlation, right?
If you tried hard enough you would probably find as many correlation between what ISIS is doing and the Holy Bible.
And between what Putin is doing and fucking Narnia.
Christians who don't follow these commandments are being bad Christians. Muslims who follow the Quran's commands for terrible violence aren't being bad Muslims.

You know religions did, do, and will evolve over time, and even if some scripture or text is still considered paramount, it doesn't mean it has to be taken literally and in it's entirety?

It's not cherrypicking: the lines from that picture were given by ISIS themselves as justification. It wasn't like someone went through the Quran to find if anything matched ISIS' actions. They are getting their justification to commit atrocities specifically from the book. It's not an after-the-fact comparison.
Also, I'm sure you could find similarities with the Bible, considering how fucked up that book is.

Sure, but there is usually some theological justification for doing so. I don't know of any such justification for changing anything in the Quran. The most knowledgeable and popular Imams and scholars of Islam haven't been able to find some reformed-Judaism version of their faith yet. When they do, call me and let me know about it. Because I've read the book myself and ISIS is giving a very plausible version of Islam in my eyes.
First thing I thought of when I saw thread title

Yep, there totally are not any militant Christians, Jews, Hindus, or Buddhists.
Oh wait there are. Stop generalizing a whole group of people based on a minority of shitbags.
[editline]27th September 2014[/editline]
Based on that, Christianity is a insanely violent religion if you follow the old testament.

Apparently hating Islam=Supporting Christianity
??????
What makes you think that someone who hates Islam don't share the same hatred for Christianity?
