I'm sorry put people who suicide like this are really selfish, they're potentially hurting more than themselves when they do this and it's not on.
People who commit suicide aren't generally all there in the head anyways dude.
If I was the truck driver, as long as I'm not the one who has to wash the truck then I won't be upset over this. It's not his fault.
badass
This is a horrible first page.
OP, I know you think you're fine, but you should see a counselor or visit some sort of support group. Trauma isn't always conscious.
what's with all the FPers in the Sensationalist headlines section claiming they saw someone get run over/shoot themselves/bad car wreck these days?
what's with all the FPers in the Sensationalist headlines section claiming they saw someone get run over/shoot themselves/bad car wreck these days?
um wat why does it matter? the guy happened to unfortunately be there at the wrong time and witnessed someone brutally kill himself. he just happens to be part of FP.
There's no good suicide methods, but a noose is a damn slight better than jumping in front of any vehicle. Badass would be freefalling off of a large cliff. But even then some poor sod will stumble upon your body. There's no such thing as a badass suicide.
What about driving an ATV out the window of a tall office building in Times Square and as the crowd of people watch you fall to your death you activate a bomb mid-air and self-destruct? It has Hollywood style action AND a twist.
I'm sorry put people who suicide like this are really selfish, they're potentially hurting more than themselves when they do this and it's not on.
What the hell does he care though? He's dead (and obviously his life was shitty enough to commit suicide to care about anyone else's problems). [editline]15th October 2012[/editline]
Because it's "Badass" to jump into a truck a scar people, Most of all the driver of the truck who now probably feels guilty.
There was absolutely nothing he could have done though. [editline]15th October 2012[/editline]
what's with all the FPers in the Sensationalist headlines section claiming they saw someone get run over/shoot themselves/bad car wreck these days?
It happens. My mom has seen about 5 people get killed. One was an old lady that got smoked by a city bus. Two kids were sitting at an intersection in a little car at the bottom of a steep hill and a truck with no brakes smashed them right through a brick wall at full speed. And another time she saw a woman get t-boned in her car by a guy who ran a stop sign, killed the woman and her two kids survived in the back seat. I say five because I don't know whether or not the stop sign runner died or not.
yeah but it's more badass -you guys have no suicidal artistic flair-
yo dude you're legitmately offending me
I'm sorry put people who suicide like this are really selfish, they're potentially hurting more than themselves when they do this and it's not on.
Yeah, reminds me of a guy who killed himself in a local pawn-shop. He bought a shot-gun, and of course for some reason they allow you to load it to "check to see if your ammo fits" or some other stupid horseshit like that. Then he walked to the electronics part of the store and blew his brains out right in front of every body. Not only did it cost several thousand dollars in damages, but the people who were currently in the pawn-shop (including children) have to live with what they saw for the rest of their lives. As such, that man, for what-ever reason he may have had for killing himself, is a dick. Okay dude, rate me dumb and provide no counter-argument. If you want to off yourself, there's an endless number of ways to do so without involving anyone else.
Wait is this that bozeman suicide that happened a few weeks ago? old guy in his 60s?
Dang. I feel bad for the family, the guy himself, the truck driver, and you for the trauma of having witnessed it. I honestly don't think the guy was doing it for attention though or for the intention of bringing harm or disruption to others. I think he just wanted a painless, quick, free way to die. He probably didn't even really think of what others would think, but if he did, I bet he would have thought of a different way out. I know I never thought about anyone else when I was suicidal many times. It sort of annoys me to see people calling him selfish and what not. True, he was by doing what he did, but you gotta think about the world from his shoes. He probably is horribly depressed and not many other people were probably there for him. At least, they weren't really aware of his issues to be there. I can only hope that the world gets better and better, and that everyone will have a place in this world, with a promise of happiness and meaning in life.
I always thought it if came down to worst case scenario and I were to kill myself id do it quietly in private and not make a scene about it people who do this kind of shit are dickbags
Shit happens
A fellow Prince Georgian. I heard about this, though I was up at UNBC long before this happened. I'm sorry you had to witness it that. EDIT: My friend said her friend saw the action. Could that have been you by chance?
This happened the morning of the 15th [editline]16th October 2012[/editline] never thought i'd ever hear of anyone else living in PG posting here.
oh and i meant missoula, something identical happened a few weeks ago in missoula, semi truck with trailer on MSU campus was pulling away from a loading dock when a guy in his 60s jumped underneath the trailer, killing himself...
never thought i'd ever hear of anyone else living in PG posting here.
Neither did I. Small world, I guess.
I'm sorry put people who suicide like this are really selfish, they're potentially hurting more than themselves when they do this and it's not on.
Depression changes a person in ways you can't even fathom
yeah but it's more badass -you guys have no suicidal artistic flair-
Sorry sir but I think nooses are one of the most artistic and tasteful tools of death. You have no taste.
One of my exes talked about "playing in traffic" a lot. When pressed on the effects that doing so could have on other people (endangering, traumatizing, etc) she would reply ~"What if I'm just such a terrible person that I don't care, isn't that even more reason to do it?" Of course, threats of suicide and or self harm from her usually only came after I did something she didn't like, didn't do something she did like etc etc., so how much of that was how she truly felt, and how much was manipulation is anyone's guess.
There's no good suicide methods, but a noose is a damn slight better than jumping in front of any vehicle. Badass would be freefalling off of a large cliff. But even then some poor sod will stumble upon your body. There's no such thing as a badass suicide.
I can think of several. Doing the Redbull stratosphere jump without a chute.. using a wingsuit from the same height to glide into the side of some back country cliff, etc.
Does nobody know anything of the suicide mentality? He absolutely was not selfish, the whole reason he chose to end his life might have been because he was fed up of keeping himself alive for others' use/gratification. In his head, he might have even thought he was doing the world a favour.
Depression changes a person in ways you can't even fathom
Basically this. I think it's cruel to insult a deceased suicide victim, sure...they could have done it in a more private place and way (nobody's denying it would have been "better", but it takes a real desire to die, to want to throw yourself under a truck... it's something that has probably been on his mind for months, planning but trying not to, debating in his head; he may have been mentally ill. Who knows his reason? Usually you guys are so level-headed and usually require both sides of the story (for stories and opinions far more controversial than this one) before making any kind of decision, but here you're just jumping on the bandwagon and labelling him as a douche straight away. Try and have some empathy
If I saw something like this down the street I would fucking vomit not to mention your friend is going to have it engraved in his head his entire life
