Holy shit dude, not everyone wants a bunch of girls lifting up their kilt while they're trying to work just because you would find it hot. Grow up.

Ah shit I have avatars turned off now so I didn't even realize who I was arguing with.
Oh SH ratings how I miss you. It's sexual harassment any way you look at it.
Oh SH ratings how I miss you. It's sexual harassment any way you look at it.
What is? Lifting kilt? Yes. There's no argument there.
What is? Lifting kilt? Yes. There's no argument there.
then what are you saying?
Are you talking to me? Because I'm not talking about guys working while wearing kilt.
Guess the subject changed somewhere and I may not have noticed it then. But regardless, it is sexual harassment. The guys clearly did not want this to be happening so they're making a change. Doesn't matter that some people would enjoy it.
then what are you saying?
I'm saying that generally physical contact at a bar is not harassment but a form of flirting. No sane person flirts by touching genitals or lifting skirt.
then what are you saying?
you should probably read back to the root of this particular conversation he was responding to this
This shit is way overlooked. I was in hot water this weekend when this girl I know asked me to buy her a drink. While I was waiting at the bar, she started rubbing my arms and back and whatnot (she was very drunk). My girlfriend was nearby and she saw this happening. I didn't want to tell the girl to fuck off because that would be seen as "rude", but I obviously wanted her to stop. My story is tame compared to this. And given that the men were bar staff, this makes for a hostile work environment which makes it even worse.

you should probably read back to the root of this particular conversation he was responding to this
Oh. Well that makes a lot more sense then, guess I was mixing up two completely different arguments. Apologies. Bring back bad reading
yeah same
So wait did we actually get to common ground? If so, that's impressive.
yeah, despite what most of facepunch thinks, sometimes arguments do end with resolution
Hoping the kilts are long enough so everything doesn't smell like man taint.
Can we also be clear here that kilts aren't even sexual. It sounds more like drunk women doing stupid things for the laughs with their friends than sexual harassment. That doesn't make it any less wrong, but it seems kind of silly to directly compare this to men sexually groping women.
I'm not even attacking you here, I just want to point out that - unless you REALLY misunderstood the article - you've excused the molestation of a man by a woman because it "seems kind of silly to directly compare it to men sexually groping women."
Then tell them kindly to fuck off. If they don't, call a bouncer. [editline]14th July 2015[/editline] What's your point mr. dictionary? By this definition harassment isn't even bad if you're into that sort of thing.
The article says it was funny at first, but imagine it happening all the time. I now know that if I ever need sex I should wear a kilt and go to bars where drunk ladies hang out. That exact bar for example
By UK law, it's both Sexual assault and sexual harassment, in the terms of the OP.

It sounds more like drunk men doing stupid things for the laughs with their friends rather than sexual harassment." Why the hell would a double standard apply here
"...skirts aren't even sexual. It sounds more like drunk men doing stupid things for the laughs with their friends rather than sexual harassment." Why the hell would a double standard apply here
Because women can't sexually harass. Silly.
The employees should be charged for entrapment and enabling this type of behaviour. There is no possible and logical way the women were physically harassing them, it just simply doesn't work like that. The men simply drugged the women with their kilts and then forced the women to touch them without consent. I'm totally 100% serious and this post is in no way satire. :v: /s
Mate you understand that Scotsmen aren't supposed to wear knickers under a kilt traditionally. I'd be hella creeped out if some lady flipped open my kilt to sneak a peeker at my junk. That's not flirting, that's straight up sexual harassment.
Huh, I was responding to the guy who got his back rubbed while his girlfriend was watching. Groping men under kilts is something different entirely.
shit man, you're edgier than the razor in your avatar.
?
Can we also be clear here that kilts aren't even sexual. It sounds more like drunk women doing stupid things for the laughs with their friends than sexual harassment. This opened my eyes to seeing how bad sexual harassment can get towards men.
-snip-
I have just held council with tumblr on this matter. The consensus is the men wearing kilts were promoting rape culture by: A) Having genitalia, and B) being men. They have also concluded that there is no such thing as sexism towards men, thereby making the argument that womyn in any state could possibly harass men. If anything they were asking for it by wearing their slutty little kilts. Oh and slut shaming? No that doesn't apply to men either. So shame those slutty slut men who wear those slutty traditional garments upholding the history of their culture. It's too bad too, because they would have gotten a free pass if they could have proven that they were any sort of kin. Kilt-kin, beer-kin etc.
The sad part is there's a lot of people who either think like that or don't find men's issues a serious matter.
As sarcastic as that post was, I say it out of shock that I know there is someone somewhere agreeing with it seriously.
sexually groping women.
Yes because non-sexual groping is perfectly fine!
I'm just going to say it, because not everyone is going to read the past 2 pages; though I know we've been arguing about this.. If a group of drunk men started touching and groping a waitress who was wearing a skirt, and did NOT WANT IT, it'd be a giant ass sexual harassment suit. Why is it okay if a group of drunk women do it to a man who is trying to do their job? They don't want it either. Its SEXUAL HARASSMENT either way you tilt it, turn it, or flip it. End of story. Period. I'm a server, so I've dealt with my fair share of drunk people. Even had a lot of older women trying to touch me inappropriately and it made me feel extremely uncomfortable and pretty gross. Believe it or not, not everyone is a desperate lonely man who cums at the slightest touch of a woman.
