Fancy Horse Makes Blizzard $2 Million in Four Hours

Here you go idiots, a low-poly $25 mound of pixels! Have fun!
By the way, no special abilities.
"FUCK I SHOULD HAVE PRE-ORDERED!"
If only I could make $2 million for minimal effort. Honestly that model couldn't have taken more than a week with a team of a few people (including textures, animations, game code, etc.). I might be seriously underestimating the work involved, but a team of experienced people should have no trouble with this.
And as I know Blizzard, their models are always extremely low-poly.
EDIT: Fuck you guys, this is awesome! I'm getting one of these!
I preferred pre-activision blizz. That cunt at the top is ruining them.
+2 dragonsword of inferno for only $5.99!
Looks like someone needs to read Bernays "Propaganda"
// wonder how much he could have made money from selling it to wow players
Good for Blizzard.
I don't blame them. If I had brainwashed so many idiots, I'd offer them a $25 virtual horse too. Hell, I'd throw in a $150 motorcycle.
Blizzard has so many people by the balls. They are being manipulated and they love it.

Not even.. if you've already bought a monitor, then technically you already have the pixels. If you can see other people riding said horse, then the model data is already in your PC. You're paying $25 for blizzard to allow you to execute different model rendering code. You could download Blender for free and render whatever you want.

Not from a business standpoint.
Um first of all
$25 for something that isn't different from other mounts, right? Half the price of a new game? Just for that?
And secondly, if $2,000,000 was really spent on this alone, sounds like everyone and their mum has one, which would make it even more pointless to have.
I would so fucking buy that for 25$, riding around Northrend fucking up the Lich King.
The ancient wisdom of WoW is that an item's value is not in it's stats or looks, but in how difficult it is to obtain.
This mount looked cool, it might even looked unique, but now everyone and their mother has it, and it was no effort at all. Now this mount is no different from any other mount you could buy from a vendor.
Soon they would all realize how pointless was it to buy the mount.
25$ for a mount? You can buy them "free" (seeing as gold doesn't necessarily cost anything) inside the game.
It's not even going to be rare! They could have at least made it limited edition or something.
Fancier than the Horse Armour from Oblivion? I beg to disagree.

I played the WoW beta. It was a bad game. I did not come back.
People who buy this bullshit are stupid.
I second that motion. You already fucked up Black Mesa, might as well cause another Resonance Cascade at Activision/Blizzard.
Damned science is scary.
Yeah, and why don't you ruin their microwaved casseroles aswell while you're at it :colbert:
:colbert: It was in the name of science!

what the fuck
I thought you couldn't armor Shadowmere?
And I thought the Modern Warfare 2 map pack was bad...
what the fuck

You can.
Also they are fucking geniuses. If I offer to sell a piece of paper that says "I bought this for $50.", eventually one person would buy it.
What did I lose? Nothing. What did I gain? $50.
People that moan about it being overpriced neglect the fact that the proper price is what someone is willing to pay for something.
They also forget that its very convenient to have for alts, especially if their on a different server or faction than your main.
When there is so many people playing WoW, I can't say I'm surprised in the slightest. Maybe slightly disgusted that people would pay for that, but not surprised.
Not really that shocking. Same shit happens in TF2 I know people who literally pre-ordered l4d2 just for Bill's hat.
People have bought the new Sam and Max game for $35 with no intentions of actually playing the game just for the new TF2 hat/weapon skins that do nothing.
Meh, I bought the mount because it's the first to be a flyable mount, that can run around in Azeroth, and I am aware Cataclysm is going to have that feature, but fuck it, whatever.
Blizzard are geniuses. I can't believe people are saying they're terrible for this. It's not their fault morons are willing to shell out $25 for something that is utterly useless. They offer a useless product people are willing to pay for for some reason.
I'm gonna quote you on this in every thread about a shitty useless DLC
[editline]06:16AM[/editline]
Anyways, the point of buying one after all those people is only because people are gonna go all "haha you poor faggot" if you don't have one
I really don't see the point in playing WoW anyways. It looks like shit to me.
KA-CHING! It makes money $$$!
[editline]01:15PM[/editline]
Plus why do horses need armour anyways?
Fucking Blizzard you guys are already rich.

so they don't take an arrow through the neck whilst charging at top speed through an awesome battle? it was against the rules of war or whatever way back in the day to attack a horse because it's not a 'willing' participant in the battle, and it's cruel, (and you could keep them after the battle was over I guess. SWAG!), but arrows and wild swings of swords wouldn't always dead-on with their target, so... yeah. Best to protect the horse, it doesn't deserve it (and would look awesome in my stable, kill the rider!)
for WoW... well, they need the crazy heavy and complicated armor to go faster and carry you as you wear increasingly cumbersome armor as well, DUHHHH.
Oblivion Horse Armor 2: The return of pointlessness.
And here Blizzard said the Activision merge would'nt change a thing ( BULLSHIT!)
