We had a similar incident in Singapore last year. A Palestinian man was found hiding in a landing gear of an airplane. The difference is that he manage to survive the ordeal though he was promptly arrested for illegal entry.
This is not the way to join the Mile High Club. :bang:
Incidents of stowaways on a plane is very rare since hitching a ride on a plane is much harder than on a ship.
He should have worn protection.
Only in Japan.
This has happened before.
Over population causes encroachment onto runways.

What then? Flying boats? :v: :downsrim:
Aren't there maintenance pathways all along the plane, Including near the landing gear? Shouldn't he have been able to find one of the paths and move to a more warm area...?
No. Even if there were and he could move to a warmer area, he'd still die of hypoxia since it's still unpressurized.
Incidents like these happen rather often, these poor people often don't know/realize the conditions up there.
Doctors say he probably froze to death and that he suffered a shortage of oxygen at an altitude of more than 10,000 metres (about 30,000 feet),"
The guy must have been really stupid or desperate to not know that would happen.
If he was a poor man, I'd imagine this could have been the equivalent of when Hobos used to travel around on trains. That being said, I wonder if this is not all that uncommon.
Anyone think of con-air when Dave Chappelle is stuck in the landing gear and falls out when it opens?
Anyone think of con-air when Dave Chappelle is stuck in the landing gear and falls out when it opens?
First thing I thought of actually that and Commando when Arnold jumps out of the landing gear bay of a DC-10 :v:
he hid himself in the landing gear bay.
how smart is that.
Maybe he missed his flight and thought too quick for his own good and ran like an idiot and lodged himself inside the landing-gear, and then died because he did not know that there was no way inside the plane from there, and the bay is not designed to carry passengers, so it isn't pressurized.
It would have been living hell though, it would have been LOUD, and then slowly dying of hypothermia/lack of oxygen when the plane was in the air.
Not the first time, and knowing the Japanese, they'll probably make a fad out of it.
I want pics.

Christ, I barely survived my flight to Tokyo and I was INSIDE of the plane.
Wow calling him dumb, thats low, he's at the worse state he's dead, and you call him dumb.
he was anything but low
Wow, didn't think that one through.
This stuff happens all the time, people try to hitchhike on Airplanes by sneaking into the landing gear while they're at the Terminal. Typically they bring thick clothing and other stuff to keep them alive, I guess this guy was a bit light headed.
Well there's your problem.
