Contact lenses project Images Straight to your Eye. New era of gaming?

I'd like this idea more if I wasn't terrified of contacts.
You guys know this probably won't be used for anything other than military use for a long time, right? On the plus side though, HUDs for soldiers are finally possible without having to carry a massive computer and should help save lives.
It would be sweet to have an option for the game HUD to be put on your contacts.
Yeah, putting in contacts the first few times is a bitch because the reflex to close your eyes is nearly undeniable. But the thing is that you get noticeably better at it every single time, until eventually it isn't trouble at all. And I'm sure that they could make these in prescription for all of the people who already wear contacts.
this will be a fad
this will be a fad
Except that it's useful and non-obtrusive in any way and after you get it you won't really have a reason to get rid of it as there are not really any "draw backs" besides public panic over delusional health and safety concerns that will go away in a couple of years anyway.
What about if you put it in slightly rotated? (Which is bound to happen)
Everything will be sideways
"Seeing only the game" isn't a new concept, having it on your contacts is.

Simple solution, stick your finger on it and turn it round.

always a solution
Could I wear these contacts and still wear my glasses? I know I won't shut up about it but I just don't like contacts...I'm a clumsy lil' tard and I'll probably fuck up somehow. I'm not worried about seeing 3-D things...I'm worried about my eyes making them all blurry.
This looks pretty sick

Why would you wear contacts and glasses? Why not just get your prescription on these contacts
That with the combination of motion sensor equipment can actually put you IN the game.

Dead Space with those contacts and motion control, someone sees you through the window screaming like a girl in fear and curb stomping the ground.
Within 5 minutes the babylon are at your door with cuffs looking for a body.
:v: "It wasn't real officer I swear"
Now I can play JFK: Reloaded and actually feel like I’m Lee Harvey Oswald!

Well he sure as fuck does not like what he see's :colbert:
Full peripheral gaming anybody? :smug:
Though, I think goggles or a visor might be better in general. Come to think of it, whats the point of developing contacts lenses instead of a good high resolution visor?

Oshit, that's awesome. Tell me when they make them in 1900x1200 :buddy:
Sounds cool but... I don't know about you but I'd be scared as hell when putting that kind of a thing in my eye, wondering if it uses mains current :v:

Cause I hate contacts and like my glasses?
Why don't we have glasses to use as a screen yet? A lot easier to create than these.

Actually there are glasses like that, but they're still in development. It was in the news some time ago.
Computers on glasses where you can look at things to select them would be good, contact lenses I'm not so sure
Imagine playing survival horror games with that.
Imagine playing the motherfucking GTA4 with this kinda technology
Imagine playing the motherfucking GTA4 with this kinda technology
Weird and irritating? Am I the only one here who is happy to play games on screens?
Wouldn't really be weird and irritating, but glasses are certainly more practical because they can be produced a lot easier than a tiny, tiny contact screen.
With contacts you could get a complete peripheral view of everything. You basically be able to walk into a video game and see on a full 180 degree concave.

I'd imagine these contacts would be like toric lenses for people with astigmatism, you are bound to put them in crooked every time, but a tiny weight on the bottom of the lens will always straighten it out after a few minutes.
