Mayweather still undefeated after conquering Pacquiao

He should have been penalized for all the low hits and embracing going on. It's bullshit, and ruined a mildly interesting fight.
Only people who have never seen boxing before this fight are at all surprised by how the fight itself went or knock Mayweather's "boring" style. He is a defensive genius. That is literally what he is famous for in the sport. People who were expecting a heavyweight slugfest are clueless, as that has NEVER been Mayweather's M.O., and Pacquiao himself has been a lot more gun-shy ever since his loss to Marquez. If this fight happened six years ago, as it should have, it still probably would have had the same winner as you just cannot knock Mayweather's technique or underestimate his reach advantage but at least there would have been more signs of life on Pacquiao's end.
For the millions of dollars they get they shouldn't be allowed to stop fighting until a knockout happened. Also did anyone else think it was kind of funny that Mexico was an official sponsor. "This fight was brought to you by Buffalo Wild Wings and... Mexico."

Clinching isn't against the rules, it's a perfectly legitimate tactic that Mayweather used throughout the fight. Once the clinch was broken up by the official, Mayweather would strike as soon as the refs hand drops to resume the fight. Everyone wanted a more straight up fight between the two, but when you're undefeated you are going to pull out everything to get the win, that includes fighting very defensively. It just so happens Mayweather is one of the best defensive boxers in history, so it's hard to blame him for doing what he does best.

Mexicans have essentially been keeping the sport alive for years now, so it's not that surprising at all.
While the match was absolutely boring, the big problem here is that Mayweather did nothing against the rule, I know everyone loves a good knock out but that's also a way to win and make your way to the top in boxing, no matter how boring the match was or how stupid Mayweather looked with all the clinching and running away, Outboxing is a legitimate boxing style and the win was also legitimate.
Boxing has been a quiet sport for literally years and then this explodes and suddenly interest levels are higher than ever. How did that happen so quickly?
And how the fuck did Mayweather get to walk away from this with over a 160 million? Is that not obscene?
Correction: Mayweather has been beaten. In 2010. By domestic violence charges.
I was really hoping mayweather would get knocked the fuck out. that guy is a colossal asshole.

He's going to have his last fight in September so you might see him get knocked out there. Knowing how this fight went, he'll probably get a more younger and on the rise fighter, but he'll probably completely outbox them even more like he did with Maidana and Alvarez.
I heard some pretty good quips about this fight before it. for example
The only thing Mayweather is going to beat tonight will be his girlfriend when he loses
In response to mayweather making officials check pacquiaos cup size
Pacquiao should have mayweather read the rules on cup size... out loud
Honestly this is why I cannot get into boxing. It isn't about who gets knocked out or w/e - it's all about who can land the most punches or dodge the most punches. It becomes really boring to watch when one person is actually doing something while the other is running around. Even though it is part of the game (so don't hate the player).
Also is it true that Mayweather is illiterate? I mean I know about all the wife beatings and such - but illiteracy?
Why did the internet explode with this news?
People who gave no fucks about boxing are suddenly flooding my feeds with this
Taking a guess here and say it's because Mayweather has never lost a match professionally before and if Pacquiao, being hot favourite among many, had won. It would have ended Mayweather's undefeated streak. Something that would have definitely made history.
Also Pacquiao claims that he couldn't perform well because of a training related shoulder injury.

I'm pretty sure he never finished high school. He deserves all the hate for being a scumbag for beating his girlfriend, but I think hating on a dude for his lack of education is pretty low. Manny's probably just as uneducated, but people don't really hold that against him since he's a better guy outside the ring.

Never forget 50 Cent's ice bucket challenge.

And suddenly everyone on the internet became boxing experts.
Boxing needs to die, just a bunch of bloated boring garbage.

I think boxing should change back to what it was. People wanting to fight and not just running around collecting points. I mean the punches that boxers throw are incredible just because their hands are protected so well. If the fight last night was 2 boxers both wanting to fight for their titles it would've been an incredible spectacle.
Instead it was 1 person wanting to fight and 1 person wanting to win.
that fight was the sorriest sack of shit i've ever seen
definitely did not live up to the hype
everyone knew mayweather was going to be super defensive just for points alone, I really did want Pacquiao to knock him the fuck out especially after the comments about him being greater than Ali but he just wasn't being aggressive enough.
As someone who doesn't watch boxing regularly (or at all since this was my first match), that fight was so damn disappointing. It was hyped up for the past month and for what? For Floyd to run around the ring and have a hugging contest? I'll admit I don't know boxing rules or the ins and outs, and obviously Floyd is doing something right to be undefeated, but goddamn was it boring to watch. Can't believe those light "jabs" actually count for him.
personally this is why i cant stand boxing, but love MMA stuff. people can be just as defensive, but getting kicked in the shin over time will cause their defenses to break. When i watch boxing, its always the two fighters hugging each other for most of the time and trying to sneak in points. MMA has tons more knockouts than boxing as of late.

The event was hosted by Mayweather Productions. Regardless of the outcome, he was walking away a very rich man.
$100/order for individuals, $6500 for bars or other public venues.
So it turns out Manny really had tore his rotator cuff before the fight and is scheduled for surgery soon. To be honest I'm really disappointed in Manny's camp. People had been waiting for years and you give us a fighter that's not 100% ready.
They didn't even fill out the injury forms, which also prevented Manny from getting numbing shots before the fight.
Bleh.
Manny is over, and Mayweather is gonna retire undefeated.
God damn it.
I don't know how to feel about a potential rematch...
I'm eager to see a 100% Pacquiao against Mayweather, but I also figure that the same old thing is going to happen.
