it is great
I switched to coffee and then I became poor. So I switched back.

I drink diet coke in the morning cause it has caffeine. It's faster, cheaper, and easier to make than coffee.
Artificial sweeteners have never been proved to be harmful in any randomized control trial.

From what I could recall, Diet Coke is an entirely different drink from Coca-Cola. It was just a flavor made to taste good while using artificial sweeteners. Its actually closer to New Coke. So it actually makes sense that someone may not like Coca-Cola but likes Diet Coke. It also explains why they taste very different. Coke Zero is closer to being "true" diet Coca-Cola.

Diet Coke is based on new coke.
Coke Zero is based on old coke.

A bottle of diet coke doesn't even have half the amount of caffeine of your average cup of coffee, though. Soda is hardly a substitute.
yeah but coffee is awful
;44421705']A bottle of diet coke doesn't even have half the amount of caffeine of your average cup of coffee, though. Soda is hardly a substitute.
A can of diet coke has 42mg of caffeine, a cup of coffee is only about a 100-150. So it's about half to a third.
If you guys are interested in trying some "Wtf" brands of soda, I'd recommend going the Galco's Pop Stop page.
I am probably going to put in an order for things like their Dry Lavender and Rose pops.
It kinda blows that brands like these don't get that much advertisement. You sometimes can find specialty stores that sell them, but for the most part, you have to order them directly from the manufacturer.
these two are the complete bees knees. gourmet soda is a super nice hobby so long as you take it in moderation

nice to have a box of interesting drinks for a summer barbeque
Sugar free Burn is really good

I prefer the taste of normal sodas but I'm on a diet and it's nice to be able to have something sweet without the calories, I don't intend on consuming it long-term though.
do people even look at the ingredients in the shit they engorge in on a daily basis
I managed to stop drinking an unhealthy amount of cola by switching to sparkly water instead

It is great, but I wish it was cheaper and easier to get.

Like in vending machines, I can easily get it in stores.
With the exception of Dr. Pepper, I don't like drinking sodas outside of meals. During meals however, Coca-Cola is just soooo good to push the food down.

Dr. Pepper isn't that good. I'll drink it, but only if I have no other options. I don't get why it is so popular.
I also freaking hate coca-cola trying to push their "Coke Zero totally tastes the same as normal Coke gais!!!" bullshit with their dumb fake ads. If it tasted the same but was just more healthy you'd just change the original you fuckers. But people with actual, functioning taste buds can tell the difference.

gee maybe people have different tastes or something I dunno
a lot of people dont like aspartame so that wouldn't be a good move.
It doesn't surprise me that chugging a lot of soda of any kind correlates strongly to other poor eating habits.
I'm a type-1 diabetic, so if I want a soda and don't want to do half a meal's worth of insulin beforehand, I don't really have much of a choice, do I?
My mom is one of the healthiest people I know and she drinks Coke Zero. My dad drinks at least three cans of soda a day and is always in perfect health.
Soda is a great scapegoat for people looking for a reason why they're fat or have bad teeth. If you're trying to get healthy, yes cutting out soda is a great idea cause it is mostly sugar and stuff. But otherwise as long as you aren't having four mtn. dews a day you probably are fine.
diet 'unhealthy beverage'
i prefer diet coke. normal coke, especially from a can, is really thick and syrupy. it's not nice. it's dehydrating and you can feel it on your teeth
not that i drink coke these days anyway but still
YES this is the fucking worst thing about non-diet soda, especially colas
like some fruit flavored sugar sodas are fine (ie orange soda, grape soda) but colas in general eeghgr
if you're looking for a drink to meet your caffeine need, seriously just try coffee. Its an acquired taste and will require loads of sugar at first but you can slowly taper that to be almost no sugar.
Hot day? Iced coffee. Brew some drip coffee and throw it in the fridge until its cool. Pour it into a glass with some milk sugar (condensed milk is super great) and ice. SO DAMN GOOD
i've had 3 glasses today already don't get to my point
I tried coffee once and it was awful. I couldn't finish my cup, and there are few things I cannot finish. I'll just stick with Soda, which I enjoy very much.
Real men d..
I wish there was carbonated milk.
Milk is my favourite drink, I can chug it by liters.
I enjoy diet coke. As someone already said you can feel it on your teeth when you have regular coke, which I don't like. I don't see anything wrong with having a can or small bottle of soda when you're out getting lunch -- however I'll never have the stuff at home. I'm getting the impression everyone thinks its the Devil's drink. I guess what's dangerous is not having a sense of moderation.
When I needa get jacked on caffeine I chug coffee because I fucking love the stuff. What I don't get are people who chug energy drinks constantly for energy when they just sit about; that shit is baaaad.

Coffee is great though
The best alternative to soda right here

aside from people with diabetes, artificial sweeteners should be avoided imho

then add sugar or honey / creamer
trying something once is silly
there is a such thing as a bad brew, additionally, you have to drink it after you brew it, reheating it does nothing good for it.

do you have any science to back this up?
