Am I the only one who doesn't think they are that bad, certainly not as much as people make them out to be
Before the days of Firefox, Chrome, Adblock... Back when IE's biggest competition was Netscape Navigator... Popup Ads were a plague. Then when Broadband started appearing in everyone's home, they put audio in them. "CONGRATULATIONS! YOU'VE BEEN SELECTED TO WIN A FREE IPOD NANO" The worst ones were the fucking shits that popped up with only one pixel width of the window being visible (If at all) on the edge of your screen, and it played audio
Classical case of "If [software] gets on your nerves, get [anti-software] to get rid of it.". Just get adblock if you want to get rid of pop ups
The bad thing is several websites need advertisements to survive, though some get way too annoying with it.
I did not need to know about hot local grannies in my local area.
What kind of porn were you watching? :v:
There's a special level of hell reserved for child molesters, people who talk in a movie theater, and that guy.
There's a special level of hell for those who dumbvote Firefly references.
Seems to me it's less his fault and more the fault of the shitty people who took what he did and used it for nefarious purposes.
What about the guy who invented pop-unders?
how could someone disagree with that fact
By pressing a button on an internet forum that looks like the following:
I can't decide if I hate pop up ads or ads that just say "Download" on a download website. Both don't cause a problem because I'm not a moron, but they're just annoying.
SAY SOMETHING whaaaaat?

*video*
All this time I thought the second part of that was "go away". I've been shaken to the core by this outstanding revelation.
What kind of porn were you watching? :v:
Man, porn ads are so damn wrong so often. "HOT SHEMALES IN YOUR AREA" when you're watching lesbian porn
Does anybody ever click ads anyway? I mean by now it seems that it is impregnated in our consciousness that adds are literally always shit you specifically don't want to click.
I would say it's mostly adults/elderly people that really haven't used computers before and gullible children.
Man, porn ads are so damn wrong so often. "HOT SHEMALES IN YOUR AREA" when you're watching lesbian porn
hot ebony midgets in ___________ find one near you!

jesus christ i remember that ad, back in the windows xp days i remember browsing the internet and i had max volume, then this ad came up. scared the shit out of me
To be fair though, advertising is a major component in what keeps the internet free. I don't mind a little ad in order to support the website/game/etc. Its just when they get annoying like with pop ups that it's a problem. I'm glad that adblock has a whitelisting program for that purpose.
The bad thing is several websites need advertisements to survive, though some get way too annoying with it. SAY SOMETHING whaaaaat?
Blast from the past.
hot ebony midgets in ___________ find one near you!
I've gotten side-ads like that before before getting Adblock that would say shit like "40 women in Saint Vrain want to meet YOU!" [t]http://i.imgur.com/qiUWz8e.jpg[/t] This is literally ALL of Saint Vrain.
