Verified by what? Did someone make a big bang somewhere?
The big bang follows straight from general relativity and the (near) homogeneity and isotropy of the universe, which we have shown to high accuracy via the cosmic microwave background.
Wild. So because of the finite speed of light, we're watching the early universe unfold. Shouldn't it be possible with further study to get an idea of the general location of the big bang?
There is no such thing as the general location of the big bang. The entire universe is where it happened.

Then again the Big Bang wasn't an explosion was it. Hard to imagine such immense power. Perhaps that's why many scientists follow religion as well.
It wasn't an explosion in the sense most people think of.
