Maybe it's hard for people to really care for an animal they know they're just going to kill and eat anyway, I think that's why these workers don't treat them like animals and more like objects.
[editline]10th May 2012[/editline]
No.
When you really think about it, stopping all abuse is unrealistic as well, we just don't live in that kind of world.
Especially if you expect a species that abuses itself and everything around it on a daily basis to.
What I got from this post was that you were trying to debate for the sake of debating in your earlier ones.

That's really all I post for at all anymore on this forum, it's a good pass time when I'm bored, and I get to express thoughts I normally wouldn't in my daily life outside this place.
That fat woman. Why sit on the pig and possibly break it's legs if what you're trying to do is make it move?
Logic.
Because she is a massive ham-beast.
My teacher, just yesterday actually, told us about the CSA program after we watched part of Food Inc. Basically instead of pooling into the food conglomerates, you support your local farmers and such. http://www.localharvest.org/csa/ You'll pay a little more, but you're food isn't mass produced and pumped with loads of chemicals and you help out your community! The program is basically you opt into paying some reoccurring charge every few weeks or so, then you can pick up a pack of food every few weeks or so.
They're just pigs..
Animals that are about to be slaughter must be killed quickly and painlessly(through decapitation). They shouldn't do this kind of shit to animals even if they are food. Thank goodness we muslim don't eat pork.
but apply this logic. A man makes a burger for you. however it been stomped to bits and but he is still serving it to you. You would not want eat that burger since it's been stomped and abused. You certainly would not eat an animal that has been abused to a point of death not by quick slaughter.
It's time we grow just the meat and not the animal. Science, I challenge YOU!
Pigs are awesome, I'd love a pet pig.
Seeing how they're abused here is terrible.ß
Is it bad if I felt no emotion when watching this?
food isn't mass produced and pumped with loads of chemicals
This isn't a bad thing. Everything has chemicals in it. Also without mass production poor people would have a bad time getting a lot of things.
Simply firing them is not enough. These people got mental issues, and they are a danger to society.
PETA isnt doing shit
and you?
If you liked the food, the pig didn't die in vain.
I held a candlelight vigil while I ate the pork chops.
Pigs = food
Sure they could be treated nicer but animals made for food are food at the end of the day. If you don't like the way animals are treated, don't eat meat. I for one will continue to eat meat. Besides if those farmers kill their stock by "abuse" it's their financial loss.
I see Animal Cruelty organizations whine about this, but aren't they the ones stopping us from genetically modifying animals to be vegetables that don't feel pain?

Animals made for food =/= animals lacking nerves and feeling of pain
that video made me feel guilty to be alive and comfortable
I'll take guilt over being actually tortured, obviously, but still... guilty. :l
Its awful to watch and its pretty cruel. But I guess thats the meat business. If we're going to argue morality, we're still breeding animals to fatten them up and eat them. Just because we treat them "nicely" doesn't make it any better.
Not saying we should treat them with cruelty, but it seems the lot of you kind of justify killing and eating animals just because it was "humane". In the end, they're still bred to die.

don't we have something more important to discuss than losers on Facepunch looking for your attention? You know, like animals being slaughtered and brutalized.

I don't see any opinions I disagree with that haven't already been brought up
I was listening to some happy music and I was laughing during the entire video.
I don't really mind what I saw. They're being raised for slaughter anyway but most of it was pointless beating that cant be good for the meat.
Nothing looks out of the ordinary here. I just see people keeping a schedule. What you are seeing is for the most part normal. These are just hippies trying to make industry look bad.
Can't say I'm outraged by the video (or very moved by it either), but most of it is just pointless violence for the sake of it. Also unless I'm mistaken pain doesn't exactly improve the meat (and the cases of bad hygiene like dead piglets lying around does bother me, since my food is being made there).
[editline]10th May 2012[/editline]
The sad music and movie-trailer like text was just stupid though.
[editline]10th May 2012[/editline]
Also was that Gandalf I saw in there?
This legitimately made me feel sick.
I wish the same thing would happen to those hurting them, I don't care that they're humans, pain is pain
Only if it was humanoid/anthropomorphic pigs doing it to them.
They're just pigs..
they're only creatures with thought, feeling, and intelligence.
who cares??? skin them alive

Funny thing is, they would skin them alive if it made the meat taste a lot better.
and the sad part is all these organizations like PETA are making it worse by naturally being the most unappealing human beings possible thus reminding people of PETA whenever topics like this come up, and thus be less likely to want to help.
There's a reason why the stereotype of animal rights activists are so negative and the movements have such bad rep, PETA is literally devoted to making animal rights unappealing to most people
If you liked the food, the pig didn't die in vain.
Reminds me of Ripping Friends episode when the cows want to be eaten.
I actually wanted to cry while watching that :c
hahaha jokes on you, I burst into tears halfway through
No but seriously, I'm astonished I was able to watch this completely. I literally cannot hurt a fly :(
I was eating bacon while I watched this :v:
