Really... With how MGS 4 was wrapped up, I really don't want to see another Metal Gear game that has to do with Snake.
Fucking Kojima, This is how awesome game series turn to shit.
He's not doing it by choice, He wanted to end at MGS1.

Why was this rated dumb? He's absolutely right. MGS was a deconstruction of all things action movie, and when people didn't get that he didn't want to make another.
How is it going to star snake?
Does it really have to star solid snake
MGS3 barely starred any characters from the other games and yet it was an awesome game.
Except if by "snake" you mean naked snake in case my bad.
I have to say that we've looked into the life of Big Boss as much as we can, what's left for him? Playing from his point of view in metal gear 1 and 2, getting lit on fire by your son wouldn't be the best gameplay.
Solid snake has decided to live out his years in peace.
Raiden gets his own game.
Boss, it better fucking star the boss, how cool would that be, maybe you could also play as the other cobras.
Also, having played MG1 and two, they werent really that good, MG1 was shit. And MG2 was just very poorly done, for Odin's sake you fought Grey Fox (The fight that everyone in MGS raves about) by punching him in the face as he ran around a small room filled with landmines. Yeah, that would transition to 3D great.
Why thinking only about Big Boss?
You could remake MG1 and 2 instead. And it would surely be better than what you said.
IMO, they could star Big Boss (somehow, but not likely), Solid Snake (if a remake from past games) or The Boss (back before Snake Eater, but I don't know how well would people embrace it)
Everyone is missing the fact that it's Metal Gear Solid and thus related to Snake in some way. MGS3 was because it's how Big Boss founded the Patriots and got EVA as a surrogate mother for Les Enfants Terribles.
Sweet there hiring for an environment artist! Oh wait i would have to move to japan wouldn't I?

You know that snake isnt involved in anymore games right?
Kojima permanently ended his story, its only raiden or big boss now, and for them, only prequels, or possibly the boss if only in a WW2 scenario.

Actually the Solid part referred to the polygon graphics. Seriously.

I'm not buying that unless there's solid evidence. Can you actually find a source on that other than what someone wrote on tvtropes?

Also, good job on being one of the persons MGS2 was making fun of.

Other than a handful of fans, I can find nobody supports the claims, so I'm still not buying it. I really doubt that all the time and effort put into creating the game was a giant joke based on the fans' expectations and only a small amount realised that, nevermind that a decade later it's still massively popular and nobody involved with its creation has even whispered about it despite it being supposedly obvious.
Booth #1914, it's clearly set during the Great War.
The patriots kill Franz Ferdinand.

Sooooo, only when a great amount of people support something will you agree with it? That's a weird way to live, but to each his/her own I suppose.
[editline]25th February 2012[/editline]
And it's not obvious. At all. I thought the 15 part analysis kinda implied that.

There are god knows how many articles that come to the same conclusion, the latter link pretty much confirming everything discussed as the author conducted an interview with Kojima who pretty much said "yeah that's what happened." You can't look at all the evidence and just say "nah not enough people agree with it so it must not be true."

1) No I don't.
2) I was exaggerating.
3) Why not just present the latter link in the first place? It was the quote from Kojima I needed - despite that evidence I'm still a little dubious on the matter though.
I was able to present my ideas to Kojima, who confirmed that I am pretty much right about why he made Metal Gear Solid 2. His goal was, as he explained to me, “To make a videogame that told a story that could only be told in a videogame.” His first and foremost goal, he claims, was to “Use the medium,” which is, as he put it, “inherently postmodern.” The goal of the story the game sought to tell was to tell that story to the people of today, with no illusions of its surviving decades or centuries to leave an impact on a distant society. Even so, the gameplay, as he explains, becomes increasingly more challenging in such a way as to make the experience something round and fulfilling even to the player who skips all of the long, drawn-out dialogue sequences. The gameplay, says the man, was engaging merely because it could not be not engaging under his supervision.
The only quotes from Kojima are quite vague and I think the author might have been hearing what he wanted to hear, I still don't consider it solid evidence.

You realize Big Boss didn't found and despised the Patriots for how they glorified him right? And that he never wanted EVA to have his sons? Or that Les Enfants Terribles wasn't even known by Big Boss before it was too late? He hated the shit out of them, and for good reason. That's why there's a lot of back and forth between Zero and Big Boss during those times.
One game I'd definitely be interested in would be one where you play as Raiden before and during MGS4.
Fighting Vamp while Snake is keeping the gekko at bay with the railgun would be awesome.
I hope they do well with a new MGS production. It really did piss me off that they practically abandoned Metal Gear Rising's initial purpose which was going to tell Raiden's story from MGS2 to MGS4 if I am correct. I mean there was this gap in the story in which they were going to explain to us how all this stuff happened.

I thought it was because Zero did not follow the principles established by Big Boss himself?
Really wish they'd create a sequel for SNATCHER, though it's obvious that it would never happen, not even a re-release.
Snatcher was a fucking excellent game. The plot was mind blowing up till the very end.
I thought it was because Zero did not follow the principles established by Big Boss himself?
It was because they both wanted to do what Boss wanted, which was a unified world without an East or West, but they had different approaches to it. By the time Zero was getting shit done towards his goal, Big Boss pretty much abandoned those ideas to the back of his head and focused on becoming a superpower against Zero. Only Big Boss would be man enough to build a country from nothing and turn it into a superpower against the world's most powerful man.
Trig, In a 3 dimensional space. Basically it's like cubes and pyramids polygons. All that good stuff.
More like linear algebra and multi variable calculus
