Make it biodegradable.
Now all we have to do is spend 10 years testing to make sure it doesn't cause cancer first
At which point we'll approve it, wait a year, and then decide it causes cancer anyways.
It's like that thing in the new Dredd movie where he filled his gunshot wound with gel to stop bleeding.
Now all we need is a field surgical stapler for wounds and first aid kits will get much smaller.
This is cool.

wonder if these two technologies could be combined
then again, they're so effective it wouldn't even matter
That's because testing isn't done overnight, it takes years.
I'd rather my life get saved when I'm 30, develop cancer at 55, and die than to just die at 30.

If cancer develops in those 25 years, then a child treated at 5 would die at 30.
In this day and age, having lifespans as long as we do, that's a terrible thing.
Regardless of your preference, items that are going to be used medically should be tested extensively to make sure they carry a minimum amount of additional baggage, if you get what I'm saying.

Cancer can be treatable, it's still better than dying from a gunshot.
Anyway this whole argument is retarded because it's going to be tested any way, plus we can pretty easily find out if a compound is carcinogenic and since it's made out of plant proteins and shit it's pretty unlikely to be carcinogenic.
As a Biomedical Engineer, I can't wait to start working with this stuff.
Instantly thought of this.
