Yeah we don't have laws like that in the US lol
The amount of things you can return is next to nothing if it has a wrapper
Digital there is just no way
Well, I'm sorry for you guys.
it really is the dumbest idea ive ever heard of
oh no watch out theyll run out discs to make copies on better get your special comes with worthless shit edition while it lasts!
Or even funnier when talking about digital distribution.
If you did that on steam they would do the same.
Why are people disagreeing with this? PayPal accidentally chargedback my Portal 2 purchase, and I was automatically banned until I sorted it out.
EA isn't doing anything different -- you can still ask them for a refund like with Steam.
It's The War Z all over again
The game itself is well made, the DRM isn't.
WarZ was never a good game, this is hardly comparable.

the drm is a part of the game and is clearly poorly implemented if they're still having scaling issues fucking 4 days in.
Hahaha I just realised, In like 5-6 years all you people who bought the game won't be able to play it anymore :v:
Maybe this sounds let them eat cakeish but - why can't people just wait to play until the servers are fixed?
[editline]9th March 2013[/editline]
I mean it shouldnt come as a surprise to anyone that this game requires constant online connection and is reliant on servers to function.
[editline]9th March 2013[/editline]
Just think of it like a delayed release date :)
But this is clearly not a defective product.
That doesn't matter.
Under EU law we can request a refund in 7(or 14?) days for ANY reason.
Hell, we could ask for a refund cause our left testicle itched. EA has to comply. The fact that they're saying no, then attempting to blackmail users by threatening with bans just because the user takes the only possibility for a refund (The only option left for their rightfully deserved refund)? Pathetic.

Meanwhile I can pop my Sim City 4 disc that I bought 10 years ago into my disc drive, re-install and play for the umpteenth time. Why change a system that fucking works.

can't be due to faulty drivers or your system's configuration, nope it's entirely EA's fault
ea assassinated JFK and gave birth to hitler too

Yeah you get to pay $5 less
but then you realize you still wasted a ton of money on a shit game you could have just not bought at all.
that video game meltdown is coming.

This PC has never bluescreened before, it's Simcity with the issue since every other game works on this PC.

Games can't cause BSODs (by themselves). In fact that one is triggered by a processor not handling interrupts correctly.

Though it COULD be SimCity is the only software triggering the sequence leading to it.
Both Intel and AMD have had CPU's that would either lock up or become severe security vulnerabilities if a certain set of interrupts were triggered.

I preorder to have a copy delivered to my house on release day and sometimes as a bonus, I get up to $20 bonus credit. I don't have a local game store.
