How long until they post completely false crimes and claim they're true? I really doubt they'll be completely honest at all. This is horrifying.
Are we still supposed to pretend that we should stop this with protest and civility because I am almost ready to go become one of those "second amendment people" that are empowered by the constitution to stop things like this
its good if its only happening to those brown people
We should also do one that shows crime by natural born citizens while we are wasting tax payer money. It may shine some perspective into the lives of the xenophobic.
but that would go against trump's rethoric
Wonder if the courts have the power to strike this shit down.
The organization tracks the crimes of "aliens;" probably not referring to legals. That said, this is a waste of time and money. It's a little disgusting IMO.
I'll play devil's advocate and ask: what makes this different from the registered sex offender list?
I'll play devil's advocate and ask: what makes this different from the registered sex offender list?
People aren't born as sex offenders?
History repeats itself. [t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/C3Mq-TjVMAAihGc.jpg[/t] I'm so fucking tired.
I'm currently watching a BBC Documentary called "Nazis: A Warning From History" it delves into quite some detail into how the Jews were treated by the them. They were essentially used to blame all of Germany's problems on them and it does have more than a few worrying parallels to how Trump views immigrants.
Courts can strike anything down, they just need a good explanation for it. It's a little disgusting IMO.
That's a gross oversimplification of the judicial system. But what can I expect from someone who is explictly in favor of victim blaming.

The courts are designed that way for a reason, and suggesting otherwise shows a profound misunderstanding of our democracy, and the ideals our framers upheld. Which is pretty standard for you, isn't it? (User was banned for this post ("Flaming" - Pascall))
I'll play devil's advocate and ask: what makes this different from the registered sex offender list?
Almost every fundamental aspect of it. I'll preface this by saying that I think the sex offender registry is a warped institution that has no place in the justice system. If you've served your sentence, you have served your sentence. This gets even worse when you consider the wide range of crimes that can cause you to be labelled as a "sex offender" which have absolutely nothing to do with harming another person. The difference between the sex offender registry and this are massive. First of all, you have to examine the motivations behind each initiative; what are they trying to accomplish? The registry is a (flawed) attempt to increase the safety of its citizens by informing them of (not-always-convicted) criminals living in their vicinity that could harm them. This is deemed important because people view sex offenders as a different class of criminal and thus they feel the need to be informed about them. "Voice", however, serves only to inform citizens of "crimes" committed by "aliens". I would assume this includes any crime, committed by any alien. What special protections is this supposed to provide citizens? Why should we be more concerned about an alien criminal living in our neighborhood, and not a criminal citizen? In what way are their crimes different as they impact me?
It doesn't make any sense to, because immigrants are FAR less likely to commit crimes than naturalized citizens, and this is something we've known for a long time. So, what the fuck are they achieving? This isn't draining the swamp, it's literally extending the fucking swamp with a racist, useless, fascist fucking institution! Someone stop the world please, I'd like to get off the ride now
they'll run out of murderers and rapists like a week in and have to start naming jaywalkers
People aren't born as sex offenders?
This is just a list of crimes. Immigrants aren't put on it without reason.
This is just a list of crimes. Immigrants aren't put on it without reason.
Right, so there's this thing called the Availability Heuristic, which basically states that the more we're exposed to something, the more heavily it weighs on our thought processes. What a list like this does is reinforce negative biases and stereotypes toward immigrants, making it more likely that a casual observer would begin to, over time, believe that the entire group is in some way defective, that they will innately commit crimes. The AH is stronger when associated with more emotionally-charged data, as in the case of VOICE, terrorist attack coverage, or The Criminal Jew. This is how you create racism. This is social engineering on the government level to breed bias and bigotry. And that's real fucking terrifying.
This is just a list of crimes. Immigrants aren't put on it without reason.
I mean if you think that creating a weekly list of crimes white people commit is a good idea we could do that as well. Maybe a "historical shame" list that includes political atrocities and war crimes as well, focusing on a different one every week. You'd probably have material for at least a few months in the latter case... Except let's not do that because that's unproductive and retarded.
This is just a list of crimes. Immigrants aren't put on it without reason.
One targets the crime and another one targets the person. I also think that lists like these helps perpetuate some sort of boodyman tbh
Is the ACLU aware of this, or do they have to wait for it to actually be published?
Immigrants are now going to be what Blacks were prior to 1964, that's what I'm getting from this. Except this time, it isn't just a problem in the southern US.

What can even be done to counter that sort of tactic?

And I guess that is the sole purpose of it, anyway.
This is just a list of crimes. Immigrants aren't put on it without reason.
then tell me what purpose this serves besides reaffirming the beliefs of xenophobes and stirring up unwarranted fear and anger towards immigrants why doesn't the government use our tax dollars to compile a list of crimes that white people commit and distribute that among militant blacks as well? [editline]1st March 2017[/editline] come on, tell me what this is for
You pretty much nailed it for my friend who can't stop about sweden and immigrants and anything his YouTubers dislike it's insufferable. What can even be done to counter that sort of tactic?
Find a different youtuber who agrees on the issue but disagrees with the method of reporting. Most youtubers which do that kind of thing lead their followers to believe that any conflict that occurs must be a result of deferring political opinions, so the most effective counter is a conflict in which that cannot possibly be the case.
We should also do one that shows crime by natural born citizens while we are wasting tax payer money. It may shine some perspective into the lives of the xenophobic.
Better yet, post a list of all the good contributive shit that some immigrants have done.
Better yet, post a list of all the good contributive shit that some immigrants have done.
Here's an even better thought - leave immigrants the fuck alone and stop trying to single them out everything they do,good or bad, when all they want to do is to integrate and be a part of the community they've sacrificed so much for to join.
Neat, just like Hitler did with the Jews!
But he's not literally rounding up the brown people and gassing them in camps you can't call him fascist yet /s
Imagine if Trump tower becomes akin to the Citadel of City 17? Drones/Scanners are already a reality :)
