Using your index finger on the joystick is significantly less effective than using your thumb, while the loss in effectiveness from using your index finger on the face buttons is less noticeably.

The amount time it takes to press a button is no time and it's easy enough that contorting your hand out of habit to keep camera control actually hinders your control. I'm speaking from experience of course, to each his own.

Which is something you actually have to do pretty often.
Why doesn't Nintendo just start rereleasing the NES? Any new consoles have the following problem: -lack of titles -lack of identity (what kind of console is it? Who is it targeted at?) -expensive -3rd party support -lack of developer tools available The NES essentially solves these problems, coming out of the gate with one of the best game lineups of all time, could be marketed at anyone, brand recognition, and potentially could be made for under $100 given the non-cutting edge technology. Developer tools are relatively cheap/free due to the prevalence of emulators. To promote the NES over emulators, Nintendo could emphasize physical controllers/putting it on a TV. To promote indie/one man devs Nintendo could have a Steam Greenlight situation where the best games get published on cartridge by Nintendo under a special label.

I have full control over the camera, as well as any actions I may have to do.

Time for it to pull an OUYA.

You control break and gas with triggers, and you shoot with RB. The only time you need to use the face buttons is to switch weapons or use the handbrake and you don't have to look around while doing that even though some people find the need to be controlling the camera 100% of the time.
