Just take the Silent Hills game and rebrand it as Loud Mountains.
Didn't we already have that?
They want to go back out of the game business and go full japan and only work on pachinko machines i'm pretty sure
If that's true, how does that make sense from a business perspective?
If that's true, how does that make sense from a business perspective?
Pachinko and other Japan based markets make alot of money for companies like Konami and Nintendo to the point where they could pull out of gaming and still keep afloat, more so for Konami since their gaming division was never a real leader in terms of money making.
what is so fucking great about panchinko gambling is illegal there so what do you get coins for money.?
I'm not 100% sure on the exact technicalities of the loophole but I think they get around it by stating that it's offering entertainment for money just like any other arcade machine and because you use tokens and not money directly on the machines.

Well I was looking forward to turning on my PS4 this week but so much for that I guess.
They want to go back out of the game business and go full japan and only work on pachinko machines i'm pretty sure
How depressing, all of those IPs and franchises, doomed to be shelved forever.
Yeah no, I dunno if it is but this kinda sounds illegal, and while Konami is stupid I don't think they'd stoop that low.
if they did couldn't sony massively sue the shit out of them?
the PS4’s inbuilt license-checking protocols to lock your game library when it can’t find the original file.
So if I'm understanding this correctly, the PS4 license-checking protocols are basically as follows in the case of P.T.: "Launching a digital game? Hold on lemme check and see if you're licensed to launch this." *checks PSN API for P.T. license in your account* "Looks like you're good to go! Oh wait I'm required to do one more security check. I gotta see if your version of P.T. is the most up to date." *checks PlayStation Store for the newest version of P.T.* "Well despite you owning full rights to play the game that you've already downloaded onto the PS4 that you have full legal ownership of, I'm going to have to lock literally everything permanently on the grounds that this game doesn't exist on our servers!" Am I supposed to believe that Sony consciously designed this DRM and greenlit it without quintuple checking at multiple checkpoints in the development process??? ya nah
Pleeeeeease, let this happen. We need an excellent excuse to fuck Konami over with a class action lawsuit!
Pleeeeeease, let this happen. We need an excellent excuse to fuck Konami over with a class action lawsuit!
I'd prefer Konami continues doing exactly what it's doing, which is leaving the game industry. No need bomb a sinking ship.
Pleeeeeease, let this happen. We need an excellent excuse to fuck Konami over with a class action lawsuit!
Konami already has their foot out the door. I'd rather they do it on their own terms and not brick my console, thanks.
Apparently Konami cancelled or just isn't working on/didn't work on PES 2016 either. Not that it matters to me but, yes, keep alienating all your gaming consumers Konami and finally walk out the door.
if they did couldn't sony massively sue the shit out of them?
it would be good Kama if they did
I just don't understand why they wouldn't just sell their franchises off instead of destroying them. I'm sure all the western publishers would pay big american dollars to have Metal Gear
because then they couldn't make metal gear pachinko and smartphone games
Pleeeeeease, let this happen. We need an excellent excuse to fuck Konami over with a class action lawsuit!
Yes hi. I'm not a ps4 owner but please don't wish for something that would massively and completely fuck people over

So my friend said that what happens when you switch accounts, is that the games get locked. So what probably happened here is that he switched accounts. It may or may not be a false alarm..Probably a false alarm as my PS4 is fine, and my other friends who own a PS4 and P.T isn't bricked. Oh and the guy on twitter is playing MGS GZ, which is a downloaded game.
it is also a physical game
it is also a physical game
He owns it digitally.
