What kind of brain-washing propaganda does Israel have so that everyone from there tries to defend its countries actions with no knowledge on the subject?
A UN report declared it legal
You haven't read it obviously, it was not declared legal nor in accordance of international law. The Panel is not a court; its report is not an adjudication. What we express are our views on what took place.[/release] So, the report itself clearly sets out that the Palmer panel can only express its own views. So, when the Palmer report says "The Panel therefore concludes that Israel’s naval blockade was legal" it is just the opinion of the panel involved. It is a report commissioned by and provided to the UN. It is not a declaration by the UN itself, even thought there are many who would like to present it as such. -- Also in response to the report, another panel of U.N. Human Rights experts rejected Palmer's conclusions [release]A panel of five independent U.N. rights experts reporting to the U.N. Human Rights Council rejected that conclusion, saying the blockade had subjected Gazans to collective punishment in "flagrant contravention of international human rights and humanitarian law." The four-year blockade deprived 1.6 million Palestinians living in the enclave of fundamental rights, they said.[/release] The U.N. did not declare it legal.
You should know by know that Facepunch is anti-semitic and hates Israel. If it's any solace I stand by your country. [editline]5th November 2011[/editline] This.
the only thing worse than this post is the fact that 5 people actually agree with you
And just because you're trying to make me sound dumb, what I said is still correct:
I never denied Israel's acceptance of some specific goods. What I stated was according to the list of banned items, very little is actually permitted. Had the ships used official channels, the actual goods sent to Gaza would be very little.
Wow these threads really are like a broken record.
I don't know why you're so hostile, when clearly you haven't read it either. This is referring to the IDF boarding of the flotilla, not the actual blockade itself. Hence, it states "events", not "event". Infact, the report stated in regard to the blockade: [release]"Israel faces a real threat to its security from militant groups in Gaza...The naval blockade was imposed as a legitimate security measure in order to prevent weapons from entering Gaza by sea and its implementation complied with the requirements of international law."[/release] --
Also in response to the report, another panel of U.N. So, where was the maritime security that Turkey had promised, the escort ships?
