I ain't backpedaling anywhere.
I stand by my opinion that the movie isn't good, but the post I replied to acted as though me saying "I'm so sorry" to the guy who said he liked it was serious, which it very clearly wasn't.
Good, Edge of Tomorrow is a dumb bland title.
I was surprised to see this do rather poor in the box office in the US but was a pretty big hit over here and everywhere else. Guessing its to do with poor advertising and / or the US not liking Tom Cruise? I mean it was not amazing by any means but it was bloody good fun and for me it was my favorite fim of the year till planet of the apes.
That was the title of the original manga, but tbh it's way to engrish for the western public and it would likely make people think the movie was goofy or cheesy.
Actually, it was a book first, the manga adaption came later. The book is pretty good, by the way.
I love the movie, but could they have picked a shittier box art?

It looks like a fucking B-movie

All the promotional stuff for this movie has been horrendous. Even though I love it and it's one of my favorites of 2014, it's no wonder it bombed.
Definitely not what you are showing off here. Jokes are usually meant to be funny.
You know what is a joke? Changing the title of a movie 3 months after you release it. Furthermore, changing it to the tagline because you think people are so stupid that they won't be interested in the movie if the title doesn't explain the whole plot.
It's like if they renamed Inception to "Dream Within A Dream", Pacific Rim to "Giant Robots VS Giant Monsters", and Dumbo to "This Elephant Can Fucking Fly".

Or Citizen Kane to "Rosebud is the Sled"

except the phrase, "live. die. repeat." has been all over their promotional media, and the very first trailer of the movie that came out had big bold letters LIVE. DIE. REPEAT. interspersed with scenes from the movie.
Or Citizen Kane to "Rosebud is the Sled"
"Orson Welles Wrecks a Room"
Machinima's channel(YouTube) had "Live. Die. Repeat." tagline as promo. I like Edge of Tomorrow way better though.
and it's fitting that they removed it from this shit movie

you can't tell me you actually liked this movie
I thought it was amazing
I'm so sorry
If only I could be so privileged to have your patrician tastes, oh tastemaker.
The thread title made me super excited that it got renamed to All You Need is Kill
Still not a fan of this title, but Edge of Tomorrow was also pretty crummy, so no real complaints.
Live, Die, Repeat just makes it sound like a sequel to Eat, Pray, Love
Edge of Tomorrow is just so forgettable. It's a better name that live/die/repeat, but I honestly didn't know what movie they were talking about until I clicked the thread despite me seeing it like 2 months ago.
I'm so sorry
I'm sorry you cannot enjoy your short existence on this planet as much as other people around you.
I liked the movie but have trouble remembering the name.
at least now it's obvious
I'm so sorry
Pretty Obscure confirmed to be alt of rusty

"I'm sorry that you like X movie." You feel sorry for their taste in movies.
You basically said that his taste in movies is crap.

How can that post honestly be construed as anything other than a joke.
My original post said "you can't say you actually like it" he says "I actually like it" I say "I'm sorry"
[editline]vgasdgas[/editline]
it is my opinion that the movie was shit, so what, people are responding to my posts as if I'm saying people who liked it were wrong, and that those people can have their opinions all the while basically saying that my opinion that the movie was shit is wrong
get over yourselves, it's a fucking movie

the film is automatically shit because it has tom cruise in it
I saw this movie and liked it and I don't remember "all you need is kill" mentioned ever. That's not even a complete idea...?

All You Need is Kill is the name of the manga that the film is based off. Even I know that. :v:

All you need is...TO kill? Killer? K.I.L.L.?
No matter how I look at it, All You Need is Kill doesn't compute. That's intentionally bad english, which might have suited the Manga's style but definitely not this.

Oh I agree entirely, I personally feel it's a horribly Engrish name and has absolutely no place being anywhere near this film's title, which is about as Western a production as you can get. A "based on the manga 'All You Need is Kill'" in the credits is entirely sufficient. Hell, it may even do as much - I haven't seen the film yet.
Wow that is Japanese as fuck. I had no idea this bigass production was based on that.
To me, the title, "Edge of Tomorrow", was initially iffy... it grew on me though. I've grown to like it.
So I'm pretty biased when I say: "Live, Die, Repeat" sounds awful.
That being said. It gives more information on the movies content.

You say people who like the movie have a shit opinion. Then you get all up in arms when people say you have a shit opinion.
I haven't seen the movie, I don't care if it's good or not, but what I will say is that you're acting like a child.

I literally never said that people who liked it were wrong, but whatever.
