That's it, I'm for Ron Paul, I don't give a fuck if he's religious.
I don't think that's why people dislike Paul. Every president claims to be Christian.
why is "college grad" an insult?
referring to his cult of youth supporters. notice the stoner descriptor, it isn't a jab at college grads
many of his supporters fall within that age group

That's what people said about Obama's supporters too. That his supporters were college kids and that McCain's were the old white guys.

sounds like grabbing for straws if you ask me.

i think college kids would be more accurate then, college grad just made me think "anyone who graduated college no matter what age"
Yeah Ron Paul is good for a Republican you have to admit.
I'm torn between not voting at all because I don't much care for any of the candidates, or voting for Obama just because I don't want a GOP candidate taking the presidency, and Ron Paul's Libertarian economics just scare me.
First election I get to vote in, and there's no one worth voting for. :v:

As a college student, I find that offensive. I'm not stupid nor am I a stoner.

The key difference being Ron Paul supporters that fall within that age group are legitimately retarded.
Young voters who voted for Obama in 08' weren't voting for a nutter (and weren't necessarily the same people that now support Paul). They didn't get the massive amounts of positive change they were expecting (which some now expect from Paul) but they didn't get much negative change either. Obama is a very safe president to have. Change is good... but Ron Paul is a revolutionary figure for the wrong reasons.

I understand the college kids part but I don't where he's getting the "stoner" demographic other that he gets butthurt in every Ron Paul related thread.

Proving my point. Young college voters are fine to you when voting for your preferred candidate but when its someone different, they must be the retarded stoners.
I'm not a fan of Ron Paul but you're pulling all of this out of your ass.
everyone who disagrees with me is a big stupid pothead elementary school student!!
I'm picturing Ron Paul winning New Hampshire next week.
Gonna have some odd family get togethers.
Also, the only reason I've had people give me for supporting Ron Paul is that he's "against the war on drugs" and "ohh but he's not big government".
Lets totally ignore any possible Racism, complete lack of sense in Domestic policies or help with Civil rights.
he is the only honest canidate. Would much rather he disagree than simply lie.

I want him to get nominated to force obama to talk about real issues, not necisarily have him be the president.

Never seriously know until we get past it.

How is NH the home of libertarians? I've lived here my whole life and never really met any. Then again I live in Nashua, which being on the border and being the second largest city in the state means it's not really a good representation I guess

There's also a shitload of "support our troops" nuts here (note that support our troops can mean "you can't say anything negative about the military of the military actions of the United States" quite often), whom would be against Paul
I understand the college kids part but I don't where he's getting the "stoner" demographic other that he gets butthurt in every Ron Paul related thread.
Paul is for the legalization of marijuana and other drugs that are currently illegal
I understand the college kids part but I don't where he's getting the "stoner" demographic other that he gets butthurt in every Ron Paul related thread.
Because people say things like this:
It is because of this inability of status quo politicians to recognize the importance of our individual liberties that I have been drawn to Ron Paul.
Ron Paul has a very strange definition of "liberty". He's not afraid to push his belief in individual liberty to the extreme (Civil Rights act) but when it comes down to controversial liberties, he thinks they should be determined by States??? Shouldn't a Libertarian support individual liberty across the board? He's a hypocrite, and yet people tout his recognition of liberty. This is not his only problem, but it is one of the biggest ones.
Obama is not my preferred candidate, but he is our best option this election year. I noted that the people who voted for Obama may or may not be the same people supporting Paul now. People that flip flopped are likely voting for candidates that they think will bring about the most change. I don't care if the same people supporting Paul now voted for Obama in 08'. I think they probably voted for Obama for the wrong reasons, and now they're doing the same with Paul. I don't believe we need a revolutionary candidate in 2012. Like I said, Ron Paul is revolutionary for the wrong reasons.
I don't think Ron Paul supporters even know who they're voting for. Call them whatever you want. It's obvious I don't like them.
Heaven forbid I have a strong opinion of the candidates who may one day lead our country.

I'd say between the support our troops, Massachusetts being our neighbor (and since we have no major city of our own many of us identify with Boston), and us not being terribly religious, I'd say that prediction is pretty damn accurate and that Romney is going to win. Plus I think Republicans know that Romney is really the only one that has even a remote chance of taking out Obama, which is their only goal (which is extremely sad).
"Gee Republicans, now that we own the white house again, what are we gonna do?"
"Duhhhhh... bomb Iran? We didn't really plan this out..."
So people here pefer Santorum over Paul?
:suicide: I'm totally mind blown.
Let's just get this Iran war over and done.
Wait, does Ron Paul advocate war against Iran?
He advocates war against the United States.

No, I think they either prefer Obama over Paul or just don't like anyone in the GOP field.
Why is your first assumption "they must like Santorum then"?
He advocates war against the United States.
War against welfare, social security, medicare, medicaid, unemployment insurance, the civil rights act, the list goes on.

Why does any of that matter if people just want him to win the primary, so that his better opinions get national attention?

That's aggressive, but it seems disingenuous.
I am somehow both utterly baffled and not at all surprised that people are still supporting Paul despite the fact that he's shown time and time again that he's a racist. I seriously doubt that any policies could ever redeem someone who has defended racist newsletters and essentially refuses to redact his statements, even when pressed to.
Even forgetting that - which is a HUGE fucking stretch for the guy who's supposed to be president - 90% of his policies are disagreeable at best and would result in economic ruin, even moreso that what's currently been seen.
He's just an all-round guy to disagree with, and you guys want to put him in the Office?
