Trump to ask for $716 billion in defense spending in 2019 budget: U.S. officials

iirc North Korea counts all it's citizens as soldiers despite probably being a very small force of well trained soldiers plus everyone else.
So we can waste $716 billion on this but just can't afford something like free healthcare?
But Fox told me free healthcare is socialism so fuck that the military need more helicopters.
no sorry its a new uniform design every week now, that way the enemy will never know who you are
Camos for each and every city!
Okay, so where is that military spending going? Surely it's going somewhere useful. As the already insane military budget is. Surely all the military presence the US has in the world justifies and certainly accounts for all the money. I'm sorry but I have a feeling there are people who are benefitting immensely from the US throwing money at the military. That's just a feeling though.
Worst case scenario, they could be trying to build a warchest for an eventual ground-assault on North Korea. But, that is an exceptionally stupid idea to try and do for several reasons, while also keeping in mind that we just did some massive tax cuts.
Some air guard for individual states are bigger than some NATO member air forces iirc
The US Air Force is the largest air force on the planet, the second largest "air force" in the world is the US Navy.

I'm gonna guess the third largest air force would be the army.

What is with everyone and free healthcare. Don't you mean universal healthcare and that's not free. National taxes is required to finance its funding. Even if "free healthcare" is meant to be sarcastic, it comes across as smug arrogance rather than poking fun at something.

when has that EVER stopped Donald J Trump?
I'm gonna guess the third largest air force would be the army.
No actually, the Army's inventory of planes is mostly military conversions of civilian planes for the purposes of people or cargo transportation with a few for utility or reconnaissance purposes; they won't be shooting anyone down with business jets and propeller planes.
I'm not against more military spending but can someone wise on economics explain how you cut taxes and raise spending at the same time?

Wait, so you're telling me free healthcare is TAXES? what a great revelation. nobody who argues for free healthcare knew about this fact

When people say free healthcare, they do mean universal healthcare, and they're also well aware it comes from taxes. This is just semantics, and it's an overused retort from people who think universal healthcare proponents are ignorant (even if that isn't you, it's still who you usually hear it from).

here's a shocker: some people actually care about other people, and don't/wouldn't mind some of their money going to a national healthcare program in which care would be near or close to free. Frankly, I think if you're not okay with your money going towards healthcare for other people, you're un-American

On top of what the people above me said, you now ALSO appear INCREDIBLY stupid for saying this. All as a bonus!

holy shit, TAXES, the way the GUBMENT tries to HINDER the middle class's AMERICAN DREAM!!11!!
you do know they have a purpose, they account for something?
and why is it okay for your taxes to go to the overinflated military budget, but it absolutely must not help your fellow americans pay for their health?

You let the deficit rise and just don't talk about it until a Democrat is in office, then you complain about how high it's gotten make it a national priority.
Too many homefires burning and not enough trees.
