Considering what the term 'dogger' means to us Brits, I'm very interested in the history of this mysterious new landmass.
Ugh, Britain looks so fat.
Don't worry, we slimmed up in time for summer. Also that stuff about vikings reaching the middle east, they got as far as Constantinople when the Byzantine emperor paid them to become his Varagian Guard becuase they were good at killing stuff.
This is really interesting. Thank you very much for sharing OP I wonder how things would be today if this land still remained unsubmerged, it really bears pondering what country would have claimed it or parts of it, etc.
Imagine how history would change if Doggerland still existed to this day.
Doggerlandians would had enslaved the nazis and put a man on Mars.
Awesome beer just a drive away? fuck you rising seas! plus i've always wanted to visit the Netherlands seems such a nice place compared to the rest of the world.
i hereby proclaim this land to be snoop doggerland
Someone invent a machine to bring back the dead and let's put Cornelis Lely on the job, I'm sure he can fix this shit.
So what sunken country supposedly connects Ireland and Mainland Britain?

I thought Dogger Land was a lay-by off the M4 [editline]5th July 2012[/editline]
We are talking about 10 thousand years. The time when Egypt was about to become a superpower. I think the vikings wouldn't even have developed into the vikings we know today.
No one suggested the vikings were around then, plus i'm sure Egypt didn't become a superpower until at least the 3rd millenia bc

Ireland's lost weight.
I wwatched a documentary on doggerland and it was about the natives getting trapped on small islands as the waters rose. They liked to kill and eat each other
Ireland's lost weight.
Thats what potato famines do to you bro. Low blow.
Doggerland sounds like some Welsh dogging club.

We have known about this area for years, but its cool that we known a little more about its inhabitants I guess
If I remember around 20,000 years ago there was a flood caused by an offshore (North-east Scotland) earthquake. The earthquake set off a gigantic tsunami, the water flooded Scotland and travelled all through the land and entirely covered "Doggerland". From a BBC documentary.
Doggerland is such an ungracious name
