This article is a couple days old, but I'm surprised I haven't seen it on here, and I couldn't pass this up. [t]http://blogs-images.forbes.com/davidthier/files/2014/08/645ZWgp.png[/t]
The basic concept is about what it sounds like: a fish playing Pokemon. The fish in question is named Grayson, and he belongs to two college students with a Twitch channel. They’ve assigned different button controls to different portions of the tank, and the little Pokemon trainer on the screen moves depending on where the fish is at any given moment. According to the FAQ, he is not dead, just sleeping. Miraculously, the site also claims that the fish actually managed to catch a Pokemon.
Source According to the actual Twitch page...
He ventured outside the town walls only to be met with many dangerous battles, his fierce growl could not defeat his enemies and after many pidgey and rattata encounters, our brave Grayson was defeated to return home to the walls of Pallet Town. Grayson has been playing for around 170 hours. Last time I checked, Grayson made it out of the house! Before that, he had acquired his first Pokemon, a charmander named AAAABBK and defeated his first opponent, the rival's squirtle! (Grayson has been playing since the very start and selected his own name from one of the preset ones!)
FishPlaysPokemon
Use your splash attack!
There is also one that plays the game based on the music that is playing on the stream.
Goldeen used Bubble! It's not very effective...
The FAQ is great.
omg I think the fish is dead, it's not moving
where the fuck is the fish [editline]11th August 2014[/editline] imagine if it actually died, shit
I kinda have a feeling the game will glitch out being played for so long. I do know that the amount of time played resets when reaching the maximum 8 bit value.
omg I think the fish is dead, it's not moving
It's a beta, unlike most pet fish betas aren't crazy hyperactive and sit still once in a while
wasn't there a random input generator playing pokemon at one point as well? did that beat the game yet or is it still hanging around somewhere.
wasn't there a random input generator playing pokemon at one point as well? did that beat the game yet or is it still hanging around somewhere.
RNG plays pokemon didn't get very far, I think
RNG plays pokemon didn't get very far, I think
I remember it got the starting pokemon to level 100 while walking around the very first town in the game.
doubt this'll be able to complete the game. in twitch plays pokemon you had a bunch of people who at least knew what they had to do, this is just a fish pressing random buttons :v:
doubt this'll be able to complete the game. in twitch plays pokemon you had a bunch of people who at least knew what they had to do, this is just a fish pressing random buttons :v:
Just add more fish.
GET OFF SELECT YOU DUMB FUCKING FISH AAAARRRRGHHHH
wasn't there a random input generator playing pokemon at one point as well? did that beat the game yet or is it still hanging around somewhere.
This?
They should add in another fish, at least one who moves more.
This?
nah it was one playing the old games, but this one achieves a similair goal it seems :v:
That fish has been stuck in Pallet Town for 3 days now.
They should add in another fish, at least one who moves more.
You mean another male Siamese fighting fish? That's going to be fun.
I remember this stupid ass fish being in this spot when I shortly chcked it out like two or three days ago, this is gonna be even worse than rng :v:
He just got into a battle with a Ratata
this x plays pokemon stuff is getting old. I can't be the only one who finds this stupid.
this x plays pokemon stuff is getting old. I can't be the only one who finds this stupid.
They are incredibly boring and frustrating, too. The only situation in which it's actually tolerable is when you have it open on a separate monitor, and even then it's just taking up mostly unnecessary space. Oh, and don't even get me started on the obnoxious Twitch kiddies spamming the chat...
I thought Twitch Plays Pokemon was pretty cool because the viewers had the ability to control what was happening on the stream.
Oh, and don't even get me started on the obnoxious Twitch kiddies spamming the chat...
༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ PRAISE FISH
I thought Twitch Plays Pokemon was pretty cool because the viewers had the ability to control what was happening on the stream.
Yeah, but watching as the trainer opens the menu 5 times before wandering aimlessly around the city gets annoying after a while, not even mentioning it relies on the Twitch community, e.g. trolls ruining the fun for the people who actually want to make progress.
Did we need another thread for this? Already one in the videos section
and defeated his first opponent, the rival's squirtle!
Even a fish is better than me at Pokemon
Last time I saw the stream it was sped up, people were spamming the chat, and the fish couldn't get out of Pallet Town. aaaannnd it looks like it still can't get out of pallet town
He better Nuzlocke that shit
