You seem to be running solely on illusions. Personally I'm glad Mediaupload is back because it's just about the only place that served large files, didn't remove them over time and had consistently really good download speeds.
i'm riding a bicycle made of dreams into good free online storage
MegaUpload was really fucking good for downloading HD porn and mods. As a free user I always got really good download speeds which is made it a thousand times better than all the competitors at the time. Now days it doesn't really matter since most sharing sites have respectable speeds.
It'll be cool to have it back, but I still prefer Mediafire.
Finally I can get my Linux distros!
Who gives a shit? Megaupload was shit anyway. I hated it when people uploaded shit to Megaupload. My life has been better without it.
It's better than downloading crap to Rapidshare.
i had backed up about 3GB of legal (italic to hyperbolate how legal it is) music that i've lost on other mediums (lost flash drive, HDD fried, etc) would be nice to get back my old legally purchased tunes
People forecast the stock price will rise pretty high, and it'd make a lot of sense, Facebook is in so many aspects of our lives, and makes so much money. I have no idea how the stock prices are dictated, but I have no idea why FB doesn't have incredibly high prices as it stands.
Ahh yes mega porn.
Who gives a shit? Megaupload was shit anyway. I hated it when people uploaded shit to Megaupload. My life has been better without it.
my fathers died of dirt megaupload needles
Wait times, speed caps, premium accounts... I almost forgot about them. But damn, that fat guy is going to make a file sharing service again. Oh shit... Need to install SkipScreen. I can live with wait times, but speed limit gives me a lot of butthurt.
i will totally use that 50gb of cloud space, opinions of the website itself aside
Megaupload's main selling point was 'not as shit as rapidshare' - though this will probably be successful because of the sheer publicity behind it and the fact that online storage lockers are dropping like flies. I'd be excited for it if it had a) no captchas b) no 'wait 5 minutes before you can download' bullshit and c) not force you to split files into about 5000 separate RARs [editline]18th January 2013[/editline] That and the 50GB of space isn't too exciting either - I don't get the appeal of storing all your shit in the cloud - I can just buy a hard drive which is faster, more reliable, and I can access it anywhere by (oh my god) putting it into my bag, a technology which has existed for thousands of years. Then again, I don't live in a country with ubiquitious 4G internet (there are huge fucking spots in the UK, even in the middle of my town which is the second largest in the country where you don't even get 3G). That and our home internet is generally pretty terrible to boot. I do find it incredibly useful for storing uni work on though - it's far more convenient than carrying around a tiny, easily forgettable flash drive. But since most text documents are a matter of kilobytes and a massive image heavy essay is what, 50-100MB I can just use google drive which offers all the google docs features as well as the security of google servers (which pretty much never go down) and a pretty large reassurance that a SWAT team isn't going to break into the server room and burn everything.
Free users are still complaining that hostfile service providers can't run on their milk-ing of it's site?
Megaupload also had pop up ads and regional download limit if I recall right. You're just biased because of its martyr status.
Megaupload also had pop up ads and regional download limit if I recall right. You're just biased because of its martyr status.
Adblock + popup blocker combo. As for download limits, since it allowed big files I usually didn't need to download a hundred .part files. The speed was also nice, maxing out my connection. All on a free account. It wasn't perfect but it was so much better than many other file hosts.
Facebook opened up with an IPO last year of $40, it is currently sitting somewhere around $30.
Of course it's done that, everyone knew it was ridiculously overvalued and wouldn't stay at that price. That's not a measure of how well it's doing really.
Of course it's done that, everyone knew it was ridiculously overvalued and wouldn't stay at that price. That's not a measure of how well it's doing really.
If everyone was perfectly aware of Facebook's overvaluation 16 billion dollars wouldn't have flooded into the company. The fall from its initial IPO may not be a perfect measure of how well it's doing currently, but it is a good evaluation of how Facebook is currently perceived on the market. Great, hopefully old URLs will work with it. It's so annoying when you want to download mods for something like Fallout, and the only way to download something is a dead megaupload link.
Great, hopefully old URLs will work with it. Really sucked when Megaupload went down. A lot of homebrew software for modded consoles, modding tools, etc were hosted on Megaupload. Many of those were uploaded years ago, so its absolutely awful when you find a forum post made 5-6 years ago, just to find out it links to Megaupload. Hopefully they can get their old servers back, but somehow I doubt it.
MegaVideo was great.
Can't recall that much about megaupload but wasn't it one of the few where you didn't have to go through a maze of "click here to download" buttons just to download a damn file?
the only thing that made me mad when it got shutdown is that i never realized half the shit i wanted to dl was on megaupload
I once downloaded a 1GB file from rapidshare. The download prediction was 2 days without a download accelerator. It was literally the only place that I could download it though so it was worth it.
will megaporn return?
will megaporn return?
don't forget megavideo ;(
If this means Icefilms stops being shit again then im in
Icefilms is still good, but Megaupload's return will make it so much better again.
MEGAPORN I want you back

Um Mr.Com?
