Where would you get the idea that it was modified? Where the hell does it mention gun modification? You should work for Fox News, with that kind of amazing speculation. What would have been modified anyways? The fact that it shoots bullets?
The press are reporting (likely ignorantly) that it was full auto.
Heard today one of my Primary school Teachers got shot.
His nickname is Rugersonline, a webshop that sells guns lol.
The name Ruger is also pretty darn big US gun manufacturer.
If only they weren't, some good gun carrying citizen could have saved them :patriot:
More people would have died, people would have started shooting at him, hitting people around him. [editline]11th April 2011[/editline]
Well I guess if the Dutch people aren't mature enough to be trusted with guns, I guess so then.
No one is mature enough to be trusted with a gun, since it is in our very nature to be violent.
this thread :munch: [editline]11th April 2011[/editline] Guys they should of had a sign that said "NO FIREARMS ALOUD" out front, this guy would of just gone home. lol
Holy shit guys the argument of "Making gun laws doesn't work because criminals will simply break the law" doesn't fucking work. This applies to every law ever made by man, so to suggest this argument is valid is to suggest that making laws is pointless. [editline]11th April 2011[/editline]
Well I guess if the Dutch people aren't mature enough to be trusted with guns, I guess so then.
What the fuck is this post. [editline]11th April 2011[/editline]
Nope, let's remember the operation on Rio de janeiro, for example, most of the weapons were old WW2 surplus put together with some scrap or really made from old pipes like you said, the rest were stolen from the police and legal firearms are pretty much non-existent on this country, they are owned only by farmers or security personnel. So do you really think banning firearms will stop gun crime ? obviously not, people will always find a way to acquire them, to gain superiority in combat, it happens since the cavemen crafted their first spears and it will keep on going, you shouldn't blame the tools, only the criminals, a decent law enforcement is what stopped gun crime on developed countries. If we start banning everything for the "Safety and well-being of the population", we'll end up in cages. anyways.. just my 2 cents on the matter with an argument everyone already heard but keeps on ignoring.
Unsubstantiated, slippery slope fallacy. [editline]11th April 2011[/editline]
Hum yes, regulation is good, banning is not...nothing else to say on it. People will do what ? buy guns to shoot cans ? how is that bad ? i don't get your logic. Because if he couldn't buy it he wouldn't have it! wow! that is so simple! i mean that's why we have no murders then! It's against the law so no one d- Oh yeah, nevermind. Even if we found a way to completely ban and stop something, and potentially save 10 lives a year, would you really give away the right to use it because a single crazy guy abused his right ? would you deny everyone else rights because of one guy ? The same goes for drugs, cars and pretty much anything else remotely dangerous. And i'd rather live with some freedom instead of complete control and safety, where i could buy a pellet gun without the fucking special forces showing on my doorstep.
Let's turn this around. So ten people have to die, just because you want to own a gun? Just because you want to have a weapon, people must die. Where do we draw the line, where the freedom to do something comes at the cost of life? Of course you'd rather have the freedom, because you're not the one who fucking died as a result of it.
Well I guess if the Dutch people aren't mature enough to be trusted with guns, I guess so then.
That must be the stupidest thing I've heard in years.
I go shopping there :(. Thankfully everyone I know that was there survived. Still this is horrible, and I wish all the best to the families and friends of those affected.
So apparently the FBI made a profile for "spree killers". It includes growing up with easy access to guns most likely with people around them that are pro guns. He legally owned 3 guns and he and his dad were member of a shooting club. Easy fix: Don't allow suicidal people to have a gun permit. He was known to be suicidal and got help for that. How is this not standard?
Sounds like you are projecting your own shortcomings on the general population.
na man if somone was CCing they would just shoot wildly from behind cover and kill like 30 people, since CC'ers dont do any training or anything
na man if somone was CCing they would just shoot wildly from behind cover and kill like 30 people, since CC'ers dont do any training or anything
yeah man if this was in america the gunman would've been shot before he could even pull the trigger like in tucson oh wait.. lol and training? all you have to do to get a permit is take a one day class and shoot at targets. shooting at paper targets is completely different than engaging an active shooter.
There was a huge article in today's newspaper about the similarities between this and the "no Russian" level in Modern Warfare 2 which was his favourite game :frog:
There was a huge article in today's newspaper about the similarities between this and the "no Russian" level in Modern Warfare 2 which was his favourite game :frog:
Now politicians have something to rant about so they can think about banning evil video games. It's always a matter of time for video games getting the blame in situations like these.
what's with all the shootings nowadays? is it a fad?
No its a sign of status.
Guns are already banned in the netherlands .
look at how it totally stopped gun violence!
look at how it totally stopped gun violence!
please stop with that ridiculous argument no one has claimed or implied that banning something stops people from doing it
I have never seen this many stupid comments in one thread. Must be a record.
please stop with that ridiculous argument no one has claimed or implied that banning something stops people from doing it
its only "ridiculous" because it's entirely true.
its only "ridiculous" because it's entirely true.
The shooter had an arsenal of legally acquired weapons and was a gun nut.
The shooter had an arsenal of legally acquired weapons and was a gun nut.
And nuts in general so it seems. [editline]12th April 2011[/editline]
look at how it totally stopped gun violence!
Banning or restricting is never to totally stop something, it is meant to reduce the chance of something bad happening.

CC'ers CAN do training. i didnt mean all of them do but some take Combat pistol classes or do simmunitions. Im sure some people cant hit fuck shit with a handgun, but i doubt that that many people with CC's are completely deficient with their own gun.
