It wouldn't be an easy fight, and it would pretty much hinge on where the battle was fought.

But then again. Majority of Russian army - is 'internal defense service'. But since Soviet Army, main defensive doctrine is all about Airborne. Russian VDV - it's whole 'alternate' army itself. It has their very own armored divisions, motorized divisions, air groups, armies even. VDV is at normal modern state, and I suppose it could be very close to USMC. They're the ones who have T95, Ramka's and other modern armoured vehicles. And also, they're professionals. But drafted. How does it work? It's complicated. Military Comission ask you about where you want to serve. If you want to serve in VDV, you must go though a tests, that will find out your physycal and intelligence abilities, and if you fit in - you then go to Airborne Academy (Academiya Vozdushno-Desantnyh Voysk).
