NRA expands its role from fight for gun rights to conservative causes

Please don't connect gun rights and the NRA. I like guns but I'm not a fundamentalist conservative fucktard
many people do not have ID's and to prevent them from voting is pretty much unconstitutional.
There is a problem if you don't have an ID...
"An NRA lobbyist, Tara Mica, helped shepherd a model bill that requires voters to show a photo ID at the polls. Many conservatives have pushed voter ID laws to prevent election fraud. Many liberals say these laws inhibit voting by minorities."
not sure why this is a bad thing.
because Voter ID restrictions are actually just attempts to disenfranchise certain types of voters, like the young and the poor and members of various minority groups;
this article does a really good job of explaining why and everyone should read it:

10 percent of legal American citizens lack IDs. Most of them are either young, poor, or minorities, and the young, poor, and members of minorities generally vote democrat. The majority of Voter ID requirement bills across the country are introduced and heavily supported by republicans. There's something going on here.
Again, the article I posted really explains this all very well.
Are you referring to minors? Because no, they might not have a government ID. But they don't vote, either.
And personally I think it's rather racist that the default answer is that this is against minorities because they are poor. Not all minorities are poor, nor are all poor people minorities. If you want to say it's against the poor, fine. But don't say it's against minorities.
NRA are nothing but a bunch of lobbyist. One of the worst kind of lobbyists. Putting our national security at risk so they don't have to do some extra checks when buying a gun from a private gun owner.
How do they put national security at risk?

no, young adults. College age adults.

It's a statistical fact that members of most minorities are more likely to vote democrat and it is a statistical fact that members of various minorities are less likely to have a form of valid ID.

If you'd just take 30 minutes out of your day to read the entire article all of this would be explained pretty clearly and with lots of detail and solid numbers. It also explains why "it's to prevent voter fraud" is a terrible justification for laws like this by giving numbers that show just how tiny an issue voter fraud actually is in America.
I understand that it's a natural inclination to avoid anything that seems to challenge your personal views but this article really is just solid journalism which is superbly supported with various numbers and facts.

But it is. For the above reason.
I hate that the NRA is considered the primary representation of pro-firearm possession. It really weakens the amount of intelligent people who are willing to consider pro-gun aspects, because the NRA is full of retards.

I'm hearing a lot of good things about the Second Amendment Foundation.

You can lead a horse to water...
But it is disappointing that the NRA gets so political.
