Kid Rock on Fox News: 'The European dream is my nightmare'

Well, he made an idiot of himself on international TV.
I don't disagree with him. I would much rather drive an american made econo car than a foreign car, I'd rather live in a large house that I worked my ass off to afford so that I could accommodate my large family, and I sure as hell would rather be paying my own health insurance than get mediocre insurance through the government and pay for dumb fucks who leach off the system.
Last time I checked I've got a mouth full of teeth and a 2 year degree in Law enforcement working on a 4 year for Criminal Justice.
I can understand that viewpoint, but I guess what I was getting at is that most people can see the upside in exactly what he 'has nightmares about'. I think you've probably cleared up his viewpoint with that explanation, but the way he worded it was really kind of ignorant. If everyone had a car, a condo, and insurance, and your biggest worry is your ability to have a large house, then that's a relatively healthy situation. What's most important is that everyone can have health & shelter.
I agree on the notion that people should be compensated for working hard. What it comes down to is that there should be a minimum standard of living that doesn't require personal wealth.. and that might have to be collaboratively financed, but shit, I'm a human being and it's hard to object toward keeping even the dumbest, laziest people alive.
Let him gob off all he wants as if anyone with a brain listens to him.
You guys hardly even know what Europe thinks of you, now Americans want to say they know what Europeans live like?
Because Europe's view of America is totally justified. We're all fat, we're all jerkasses, we all whack off to our flag we're so zealously patriotic, and none of us know shit about shit.
That's not how we view you at all.
Europeans are completely fine with Americans, regardless of tongue-in-cheek comments that the Brits make.

Oh yeah because some idiots on the internet say it they represent the whole Europe?
Dumbass.
Europeans are completely fine with Americans, regardless of tongue-in-cheek comments that the Brits make.
I agree. That view of Americans is generally one that is said by kids aggravating people on XBL. It doesn't mean anything.
Kid Rock is a musician, and a stupid one at that. Asking for his thoughts on government is as idiotic as pulling someone off the streets of Montgomery, AL and interviewing them. Kid Rock doesn't know shit about politics, government, or economics. Fox obviously talked to him solely because they knew he's a dumbass redneck who would spout their usual talking points for them.
:foxnews:
His music sucks but I agree.
I personaly think we should all just have a nation wide test about the world, if you fail, you die, unless you prove to be usefull to the community, such as a child, great doctor, scientist, etc...
oh lord
This man is wrong about Prius cars in europe. I'm european and I don't even know what a Prius is!
This man is wrong about Prius cars in europe. I'm european and I don't even know what a Prius is!
As I understand it, the Prius' mileage numbers are pretty paltry compared to most of Europe's diesel offerings.
He has a point.

Don't argue with this guy he sells em for a living he knows his shit.
Kid Rock's music is my nightmare
The majority of Americans hate taxes to damned heck and think universal health care is a giant step towards socialism, despite the fact that universal health care has proven to be economical and efficient by other modernized countries (such as the United Kingdom and Canada).
What are you talking about our Health Care sucks. We're too few spread over too far and it makes the entire system inefficient and expensive at the same time.

I'm pretty hesitant to believe that when Canada has one of the highest average life expectancies in the world
[editline]08:42AM[/editline]
unless you're talking about the U.K., but their average life expectancy is still significantly higher than the U.S.'s as well

Healthy living and health care aren't perfectly correlated in terms of life expectancy. Just because you have amazing, free hospitals doesn't mean you'll live forever. If the food you eat, the places you live, and the lifestyle you lead are all shit, you won't live all that much older. They are related in a way though, don't get me wrong.
But anyway, the problem isn't its effectiveness in patching people up, its the system itself. When you have a country that has 3 people per square kilometer on average (Think about the northern territories), it gets difficult to keep well-funded and staffed hospitals in enough places to provide proper waiting times and access to medical care. A common recurring event in Canada is the closure of a hospital due to lack of use and patients, then a story about how a pregnant lady or injured person from the same area had to drive three hours to the nearest hospital afterwards as a result.

The US having 10x the population of Canada, you could pull it off far, far, far more effectively than Canada could. Having seen the system at work in France and Germany firsthand, I can tell you its brilliant and very worthwhile.
Because when I want to know what's going on with the government, my first thought is "I wonder what Kid Rock would do?"
Is Fox News that desperate to bring on someone like him to discuss politics? It's pretty pitiful.
Where's Scorpious when you want him?

Yep, God bless Turbodiesels.
Hahaha, Kid Rock is so awesome. :v:
This.
Seriously are the americans actually so retarded that they feel they shouldn't care about those around them, no matter how well off they are, despite the fact the vast majority are christians?
They go against thier own fucking religion whenever it suits them.

Still beats "Okay, we'll help you, but we'll take your house, all your possessions, and leave you in inescapable debt for the rest of your life. If we manage to save you, that is."
We don't have condos in the UK, but I always thought they looked awesome :

Oh yeah no doubt but it still results in 15% consumer tax and 50% income tax.
I don't know, I'd rather have that then people dying of preventable/curable diseases.
